⚠️ NETANYAHU WARNS OF POSSIBLE ATTACKS AHEAD OF ELECTIONS: Speaking at the IDF’s Tel Nof Air Force base, Prime Minister Netanyahu warned that Israel has indications its enemies will try to attack ahead of the elections.
“We have indications that, ahead of the elections, our enemies will try to attack us,” he said.
Netanyahu praised the Air Force’s pilots and ground crews, saying Israel is operating constantly on all fronts. He said Israeli forces had eliminated the terrorist who kidnapped Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or two days earlier. “We brought them home, and we eliminated him,” he said.
He also said the commander of Hamas’s Northern Gaza Brigade had been eliminated the previous night, joining his predecessors. According to Netanyahu, Israel has eliminated more than 100 terrorists in Gaza alone in recent weeks.
Turning to Lebanon, Netanyahu pointed to Israeli operations there, including at the Ali Taher Ridge. He said the achievements secured through the heroism of Israeli fighters were accompanied by tremendous pressure to withdraw and give them up.
“I am not allowing that to happen, and I will not allow it to happen,” he said.
Addressing Israel’s enemies from what he described as “the long arm of the State of Israel,” Netanyahu warned: “Don’t mess with us — not now, and not ever. Our long arm will reach you anywhere, at any time.”
🛡️ Lapid briefed after opposition challenges security warnings: Eisenkot’s Yashar! party said that if Netanyahu’s statements about security threats were accurate, opposition leader Yair Lapid required an immediate briefing to establish that the threat was genuine and not a political maneuver intended to disrupt the election campaign. The party said Israel’s security must not be mixed with the campaign, even in appearance.
Lapid contacted Netanyahu’s office to request an “urgent security briefing”. The Prime Minister’s Office said Netanyahu regularly holds security briefings with Lapid and that their most recent meeting had taken place on September 14. It said Netanyahu had instructed his military secretary to brief Lapid that day on the latest developments.
Lapid subsequently requested a four-way meeting with Netanyahu, Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) chief Zini and Election Committee chairman Justice Solberg. Netanyahu and Lapid met tonight at 11:30 PM.
Following the briefing, Lapid said: “Security threats are something that must be handled professionally and responsibly. Israel’s security and IDF bases are not props for campaign videos. Without going into details, the IDF, Shin Bet, and police are prepared for the elections, and there is no reason to cause public panic. The IDF Chief of Staff has raised 10 red flags regarding troop shortages and burnout in the military. If Netanyahu is so concerned about the security situation, he should enlist the 15,000 Haredi men the IDF is short of.”
⚠️ Katz threatens Hamas leaders abroad: Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened to eliminate all those who took part in the October 7, 2023, attack, warning: “Hamas leaders abroad are also in our sights.”
“The IDF eliminated the commander of Hamas's Northern Gaza Brigade overnight, as part of the ongoing series of operations against the terror leaders in Gaza,” Katz said in a video statement. He added that “the Hamas leaders abroad are also in the crosshairs.”
“None of these despicable murderers, who played a central role in the October 7 massacre, may be allowed to die peacefully,” he said.
Referring to Israel’s strike on Hamas leaders in Qatar last year, Katz said: “Once they escaped due to a malfunction. But the next time will come, and they too will be sent to the depths of hell.”
