🛡️ IRON DOME RECEIVES MAJOR UPGRADE AS ISRAEL TESTS LASER INTEGRATION, ROMANIA BUYS RAFAEL AIR DEFENSES

🛡️ IRON DOME UPGRADED AFTER LESSONS FROM THE WAR: Israel's Ministry of Defense and Rafael have successfully completed an extensive series of tests of upgraded Iron Dome capabilities, incorporating operational lessons learned during the war and recent operations against Iran.

The upgrades were tested against rockets, cruise missiles, UAVs, and scenarios involving larger and more intense barrages to improve the system's ability to counter both current and future threats.

A major milestone was the integration of the new high-power laser system, Or Eitan / Iron Beam, with Iron Dome's command-and-control network. Joint testing demonstrated how the systems will operate together as part of Israel's evolving multi-layered air defense.

The Defense Ministry said the new capabilities significantly strengthen Israel's ability to respond to a broad range of attack scenarios while preparing for an intensive security decade and preserving the IDF's qualitative and strategic advantage in future conflicts.

Operational since 2011, Iron Dome has intercepted thousands of rockets and aerial threats during the current war, helping prevent extensive casualties and damage to strategic infrastructure.

Officials also said interceptor production is being accelerated in both Israel and the United States to improve readiness for future conflicts.

Moshe Patel, head of the Defense Ministry's Missile Defense Organization ("Homa"), said the recent war and Operation Roaring Lion required unprecedented flexibility in responding to massive missile barrages. He said integrating the new laser system into Iron Dome's command-and-control architecture represents another major advance in protecting Israel's civilian home front.

Rafael CEO Yoav Tourgeman said the successful tests validated new Iron Dome capabilities under complex operational scenarios, including the integration of the Or Eitan laser system, and that the upgrades will become part of the IDF's air defense network against current and future threats.

🛡️ ROMANIA SIGNS $2.3 BILLION RAFAEL AIR DEFENSE AGREEMENT: Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has signed a framework agreement worth approximately $2.3 billion with Romania's Ministry of Defense to supply multiple SPYDER mobile air defense batteries.

The system is designed to counter short- and medium-range aerial threats. The agreement includes launchers, interceptor missiles, radar systems, training programs, and logistical support for the Romanian forces that will operate the system.

⚖️ DEFENSE COMPANY INDICTED OVER ALLEGED ₪35 MILLION ILLEGAL DEFENSE EXPORT SCHEME: Israel's State Attorney's Office filed an indictment against Ability Computer & Software Industries Ltd. and two company executives following a joint investigation by the Defense Ministry's Security Directorate (Malmab), Lahav 433, the Israel Tax Authority, and other enforcement agencies.

According to the indictment, filed as part of a plea agreement, the defendants are accused of aggravated smuggling through violations of Israel's Defense Export Control Law and marketing defense-related products without the required licenses.

The alleged offenses involve approximately ₪35 million in illegal exports. One executive also faces tax-related charges, while the company has additionally been charged with money laundering under Israel's Prohibition on Money Laundering Law.
