🔴 MISSILE BARRAGE AND CASUALTIES IN BEIT SHEMESH: A heavy wave of attacks is underway in western Iran, where long-range ballistic missiles are being launched. This barrage is reported at over 37 missiles.
Impacts were reported in the Judean Lowlands, including Beit Shemesh near Jerusalem. Magen David Adom dispatched 30 ambulances and reported treating multiple injuries following an Iranian ballistic missile impact in Beit Shemesh, including a 10-year-old girl in serious condition. MDA also reported a man in moderate condition in central Israel from an Iranian ballistic missile or fragment impact. Fire and Rescue Services reported three critically injured.
🎯 DEFENSE MINISTER: CONTINUED STRIKES IN IRAN: Defense Minister Israel Katz said, “From now on, since we have achieved air superiority in the skies, there will be nonstop strikes in Iran.”
In the first situation assessment of Operation “Roaring Lion,” Katz said the operation “will continue as long as necessary,” and “will not stop just before the goals are achieved.” He added that the elimination of Khamenei is “a turning point,” and said he hopes the activity will lead to “the outcome we want,” including that “the Iranian people will be able to remove this regime for themselves, for us, and for the whole world.”
🔹 OPERATIONAL FIGURES AND IRAN MISSILE ASSESSMENT: The IDF has so far dropped about 1,200 munitions, and the Americans about 1,050. About 50 aerial refueling tankers are in the area, compared to fewer than 10 in Operation Rising Lion.
The Israeli military assesses Iran currently possesses about 2,500 ballistic missiles. Ahead of June 2025’s war, the IDF said it identified Iranian efforts to accelerate ballistic missile production and increase the stockpile from around 3,000 to 8,000 within two years. During the June war, Iran launched over 500 missiles at Israel, and the military reported destroying hundreds more in strikes and preventing the production of 1,500 additional missiles by targeting manufacturing infrastructure. In recent months, the military says Iran has been investing significant efforts to restore production capabilities, manufacturing dozens per month, and that the production rate has been on an upward trend.
“The possession of missiles by a regime that intends to destroy the State of Israel constitutes an existential threat,” the military says, adding that it “will not allow the Iranian terror regime to restore its military capabilities, and will continue to act to eliminate any emerging threat against the citizens of the State of Israel, anywhere and at any time.”
💥 STRIKES REPORTED IN TEHRAN, SHIRAZ, AND NORTHERN IRAQ: A large explosion was reported at a Basij base in Tehran, with reports that many Basij members were killed, the street was closed, ambulances were transporting bodies, and the building was completely destroyed.
A strong wave of attacks was also reported in Shiraz, with reports that air defense systems are firing nonstop. An attack was reported in Erbil, northern Iraq, with reports of damage to the American consulate by a suicide drone.
⚠️ STRAIT OF HORMUZ SHIPPING DISRUPTION AND TANKER ATTACK: German shipping giant Hapag-Lloyd, the world’s fifth-largest container carrier, announced it is suspending all transit through the Strait of Hormuz until further notice.
The oil tanker Sky Light was attacked by Iran near the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian television reported the tanker did not heed Iranian warnings.
