🦇 IDF’S “ATALEF” DRONE FAMILY EXPANDS AFTER RAPID WARTIME DEVELOPMENT

🦇 IDF REVEALS NEW DETAILS ON “ATALEF” COMBAT DRONES: The IDF disclosed additional information about the “Atalef” (“Bat”) drone family developed by the “Yeftach” unit of the Land Technology Division during the war. Inspired in part by FPV drone warfare seen in Ukraine, the system was designed to provide frontline forces with portable, highly maneuverable attack drones capable of real-time targeting.

According to the IDF, the first operational version was developed and deployed within just three months. Shortly afterward, the drone carried out its first successful elimination in Gaza.

🎯 MODULAR DRONES USED IN GAZA AND LEBANON OPERATIONS: The drones are equipped with advanced warheads and modular systems that allow rapid adaptation for different operational missions. Officials say the “Atalef” can track moving targets at speeds of up to 130 km/h.

The IDF highlighted a recent strike by the 226th Brigade against a Hezbollah operative riding a motorcycle in Lebanon as one example of the system’s operational use.

🛰️ WOUNDED SOLDIERS HELPED ACCELERATE FIELD ADAPTATION: The IDF emphasized the drone’s relatively low cost, fast production capability, and ease of training compared to more complex systems.

To speed battlefield adaptation, wounded soldiers who returned to service were integrated into development and training teams, helping train frontline troops while providing direct battlefield feedback for upgrades and modifications.

The IDF says the original “Atalef” has since expanded into an entire family of drones, with multiple versions adapted for different combat missions and operational needs.
