ā—ļø SHIN BET CHIEF REJECTS OCTOBER 7 CONSPIRACY CLAIMS AND BACKS INTERNAL FINDINGS: Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) chief David Zini dismissed conspiracy theories alleging betrayal or cooperation by the agency or the broader security establishment during the October 7, 2023 attack. "it is clear and known that there was no ā€˜betrayal’ or ā€˜cooperation’ on the part of the Shin Bet or any members of the security establishment."

Speaking at a conference attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Zini said he accepts the Shin Bet internal investigation conducted under former head Ronen Bar. "As the head of the investigative team noted, there are still additional issues to examine, but there is no disputing the conclusions of the investigation team, and they contain extensive material to work with and to correct," Zini is quoted as saying by the Shin Bet.

"Unfortunately, we failed with a severe professional failure, and we must work day by day, hour by hour, in order to correct and implement all the lessons and complete what remains to be investigated," he adds.

ā—ļø SHIN BET OFFICER CHARGED WITH AIDING ENEMY DURING WARTIME: Charges were filed against a senior Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) officer suspected of aiding the enemy during wartime by smuggling goods into the Gaza Strip in exchange for large sums of money.

Authorities seized 6.5 million shekels from his possession.

šŸ‡®šŸ‡± MOD SIGNS NIS 130M+ ASHOT ASHKELON DEAL FOR MERKAVATRANSMISSION REFURBISHMENT: Israel’s Ministry of Defense signed an agreement with Ashot Ashkelon valued at over NIS 130 million to refurbish and supply transmissions for Merkava tanks.

The contract is part of a series of defense-industry deals aimed at expanding Israel’s domestic production base and strengthening IDF force-build-up under the strategy led by Defense Minister Israel Katz and MoD Director-General Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram.

Ashot Ashkelon will refurbish multiple 1,200-hp and 1,500-hp transmissions for armored platforms including Merkava and Namer.

Total orders in the overall transmission refurbishment program have reached about NIS 253 million.

MoD procurement chief Ze’ev Landau said expanding Israel’s defense manufacturing base is a key lesson of the war, ensuring supply continuity and readiness of IDF armored vehicles that proved highly effective in combat.

Ashot Ashkelon CEO Eli Damari said rising demand includes new systems, spare parts, and refurbishment of existing platforms, and said the expanding backlog supports planned production growth in the coming years.
