❌ Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), Yamam, And IDF Apprehend Terror Aide In Jenin: Guided by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), Yamam and IDF soldiers operated in Jenin and apprehended terrorist Muhammad Zidan. He served as an aide to the terrorist who carried out the shooting attack in Al Funduq on January 6, 2025, in which three Israeli civilians were murdered and eight others were injured.
The IDF said Zidan was formerly a senior figure in a terrorist network in Jenin. He was involved in financing terror elements and advancing terrorist activity against the State of Israel.
⚠️ IDF Returns Israelis Who Crossed Into Lebanon Near Yir'on: IDF surveillance identified a gathering of approximately 20 Israeli individuals near the Israel-Lebanon border. During the gathering, two individuals crossed into Lebanon near the community of Yir'on.
IDF troops located the civilians and returned them safely to Israeli territory. The suspects will be transferred to Israel Police for further processing.
The IDF condemned the incident and said crossing the border is a criminal offense that endangers civilians and IDF troops.
🏴 UN Report Says Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa Is ISIS’s Primary Assassination Target: A new UN report says Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa is ISIS’s primary target for assassination. UN experts said five assassination attempts against al-Sharaa and two senior officials were thwarted over the past year.
The report said the plots were attributed to ISIS or the Islamist militant group Saraya Ansar al-Sunnah. The UN report also referenced two senior officials as Interior Minister Anas Khattab and Foreign Minister Assad al-Shaibani.
The Iraqi Justice Ministry announced that 5,064 ISIS detainees have been transferred from Syria to Iraq, including approximately 270 Iraqis and 3,000 Syrians, and that they will be tried under Iraqi law. An Iraqi diplomat told Al Araby that Baghdad has launched a high-level effort to repatriate ISIS detainees to their countries of origin.
"Some countries have offered financial assistance in exchange for Iraq continuing to hold ISIS detainees," the diplomat added.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said, "ISIS has become very active in Syria following the recent clashes between the Syrian Army and the SDF. We are very concerned because they are on the other side of the border".
Fuad Hussein also told Reuters, "The decision to reappoint Nouri al-Maliki is an internal matter, but we take American signals seriously".
