Katz said Khatib was killed in the overnight strike and linked the operation to a broader escalation.
❌ Elimination of senior Hamas naval commander: IDF troops eliminated Younes Mohammed Hussein Alian, commander of Hamas’ Northern Gaza Brigade in the Naval Array.
He was responsible for operating the brigade’s naval forces, advancing its force build-up, overseeing terrorist training and preparation, and managing weapons readiness.
In recent weeks, Alian worked to rehabilitate the brigade’s capabilities in the Gaza Strip and was planning imminent terror attacks.
He was targeted because he posed a real threat to IDF troops.
❌ Elimination of Hamas logistics commander tied to weapons procurement: The IDF also eliminated Yahya Abu Labda, a commander in Hamas’ supply and logistics department.
He was responsible for purchasing and transporting military equipment and weapons for Hamas’ military wing.
Abu Labda transported dozens of tons of raw materials used to manufacture rockets, along with advanced electronic components intended to strengthen Hamas’ production capabilities.
According to the IDF, this equipment was later used by Hamas during the October 7 attack.
