🎯 HAMAS’ KHAN YOUNIS BRIGADE: The IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) say they eliminated Muhammad Yazouri, commander of the Khan Younis Brigade in Hamas’ military wing, in a precise airstrike overnight in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. Company commander Hudheifa Muammar and another brigade terrorist, Muhammad Bahjat Rashi, were eliminated in the same strike.
Yazouri previously served as the brigade’s deputy commander, Combat Support Battalion commander and intelligence chief. According to the IDF and Shin Bet, he managed the brigade’s terrorists and directed attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians. In recent months, he worked to advance dozens of attacks against troops and rebuild the brigade’s capabilities after significant damage during the war.
Earlier reports from Hamas and Palestinian media identified him as Muhammad Abdul Salam Al-Yazouri, also known as Abu al-Haitham. An account used by Hamas to announce members’ deaths published a “martyr poster” for him. At that stage, the IDF had confirmed that an overnight airstrike eliminated terrorist operatives in Khan Younis but said their identities were awaiting confirmation.
🎯 HAMAS SNIPER CELL COMMANDER: The IDF and Shin Bet say they eliminated Moamen Jabr Al-Sayed Abu Labda, head of a sniper cell in Hamas’ Rafah Brigade, in a strike yesterday in the Khan Younis area.
According to the agencies, he conducted sniper training across Gaza aimed at harming Israeli civilians and IDF troops operating near the Yellow Line. They said he had recently attempted to rebuild Hamas’ capabilities in systematic violation of the ceasefire and was eliminated to remove the threat he posed.
❌ EASTERN BORDER WEAPONS SMUGGLING: Security forces thwarted an overnight smuggling attempt along the eastern border, seizing 35 weapons, including more than 30 pistols and two M-16 rifles, and arresting two Jericho residents.
After IDF surveillance detected signs of preparations for smuggling, troops from the Jordan Valley and Foothills Brigade, officers from the Israel Police’s Jordan Border Unit in the Judea and Samaria District, and Border Police forces in Judea and Samaria jointly established ambushes in the area.
The suspects and weapons were transferred to the Judea and Samaria District Central Unit for further investigation. Security forces remain deployed along the eastern border to thwart smuggling and protect Israeli citizens.
🛡️ JUDEA AND SAMARIA READINESS: The IDF says it launched a surprise exercise in the Judea and Samaria Division, calling out all its battalions to train and improve readiness ahead of the holiday period. The drill is expected to continue until the afternoon, with increased security force movement in the area.
The exercise will assess alertness and operational readiness and rehearse surprise scenarios. It follows drills in recent weeks covering various operational scenarios and refining coordination with other security and emergency services in the sector.
The IDF emphasizes that the exercise is planned and there is no concern about a security incident.
