💥 BEAUFORT RIDGE TUNNEL NETWORK: The IDF dismantled several key underground routes beneath the Beaufort Ridge in southern Lebanon during a limited operation within the Security Zone.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said 700 tons of explosives were used to demolish the subterranean facility. The operation had been planned for an earlier date but was postponed because of the ceasefire.
According to their joint statement, the tunnel system was destroyed at this time in response to Hezbollah’s ceasefire violation yesterday, when an explosive drone targeted an unmanned IDF bulldozer.
The multilevel network was built over two decades and served as a strategic Hezbollah stronghold and central command center for the terrorist organization’s Bader Unit in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah terrorists and commanders used the facility to manage combat and direct fire toward IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians.
The network was planned and funded by the Iranian terrorist regime. Located approximately six kilometers from Metula and the Galilee Panhandle, it posed a threat to northern Israeli communities and IDF forces. Dozens of UAVs, explosive devices, and anti-tank missiles were launched from the infrastructure toward Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers during the war.
The IDF said it demolished “several key underground routes in the Beaufort Ridge area.”
“Over the past several weeks, IDF troops completed securing the Beaufort Ridge area, while taking control of and clearing the underground infrastructure and preparing it for destruction,” the military said.
The IDF previously destroyed another section of the network on July 13. Following tonight’s demolition of a significant portion of the infrastructure, most of the underground system beneath the Beaufort Ridge has been destroyed.
📍 CONTINUED OPERATIONS: IDF soldiers continue to operate in the Beaufort Ridge and Ali Taher Ridge areas. They remain on high alert and are prepared for defensive and offensive scenarios. The military said attacks against IDF soldiers would be met with an appropriate response.
The IDF is also continuing to monitor a major Hezbollah tunnel system beneath the Ali Taher Ridge, where dozens of Hezbollah operatives are still believed to be holed up.
