π¨ ROCKET FIRE FROM LEBANON: Sirens sounded in the northern border community of Shtula after several launches crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory. The Israeli Air Force intercepted the launches, and there are no reports of injuries.Β
β HEZBOLLAH CLAIMS RESPONSIBILITY: Hezbollah says it fired approximately four rockets at Shtula. The terror group says the attack was in response to an alleged Israeli ceasefire violation involving artillery fire earlier in the southern Lebanon town of Yater.
π ADDITIONAL HEZBOLLAH CLAIMS: Hezbollah also claims it targeted an IDF bulldozer in the southern Lebanon town of Rachaf while it was demolishing homes. In a separate statement, the group says it fired rockets at Israeli troops stationed in the Bint Jbeil area. There is no immediate comment from the IDF on those incidents.
π£ IRAN AND THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ: Iran has reportedly laid new naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Shipping traffic has sharply declined, according to Axios.
π± ISRAEL DEFENSE EXPORT TO SLOVAKIA:
Israel has delivered the Barak MX air defense system to Slovakia following a β¬560 million, NIS 2 billion, deal signed in 2024.
In a statement, the Defense Ministry says the delivery to the Slovak Air Force was completed ahead of schedule and "marks a significant enhancement in Slovakiaβs ability to defend its airspace against the full spectrum of modern aerial threats... while further reinforcing NATOβs collective security architecture."
The ministry says the system, produced by Israel Aerospace Industries, is designed to counter fighter jets, helicopters, drones, cruise missiles, surface-to-air missiles, and tactical ballistic missiles. It is equipped with three types of interceptor missiles for threats at ranges of up to 35, 70, and 150 kilometers.
