⚠️ US MAINTAINS IRAN BLOCKADE AS CEASEFIRE EXTENSION FACES IRANIAN THREATS AND STRAIT OF HORMUZ ATTACK RAISES TENSIONS

‼️ CEASEFIRE EXTENSION FACES IMMEDIATE PRESSURE: Fox News reports the ceasefire extension is expected to be "short-lived" unless a deal is reached quickly, with sources saying the move was made largely out of respect for Pakistani mediators. The Guardian reports President Trump decided on the extension after meeting Tuesday at the White House with JD Vance, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, and Dan Caine, while Tulsi Gabbard was not present.

🛡️ US KEEPS MILITARY AND ECONOMIC PRESSURE IN PLACE: "U.S. Central: Command forces remain ready..." - U.S. Central Command. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the United States will continue enforcing a naval blockade of Iranian ports to cut off Iran’s main revenue sources and increase pressure on Tehran.

⚠️ IRAN WARNS THE CEASEFIRE EXTENSION COULD BE MET MILITARILY: Advisor to Iran’s Parliament Speaker: ‘Trump's extension of the ceasefire makes no sense. The losing side cannot set the terms. Continuing the siege is no different from bombing and must be responded to militarily. Meanwhile, Trump's extension of the ceasefire certainly means buying time for a surprise strike. It is Iran's time to take the initiative.’

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya warned: “Our capable & powerful forces have long been at a state of 100% readiness, with their fingers on the trigger so that in the event of aggression or any action against Iran, we will immediately and forcefully strike pre-designated targets and deliver another lesson, harsher than before, to the US aggressor & the child-killing Zionist regime.”

💥 IRGC GUNBOAT FIRES ON CONTAINER SHIP IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ: The UK Maritime Trade Operations said an IRGC gunboat approached a container vessel 15 nautical miles northeast of Oman and fired at it, causing heavy damage to the ship’s bridge. No casualties were reported.

🔱 TRUMP SAYS IRAN SEEKING TO REOPEN STRAIT AMID FINANCIAL STRAIN: Donald Trump said Iran is pushing to reopen the Strait of Hormuz due to mounting financial pressure, claiming the country is losing roughly $500 million per day while it remains blocked.

According to Trump, Iranian messaging about wanting the strait closed is intended to “save face,” while behind the scenes there are efforts to restore access quickly. He added that military and police forces in Iran are reportedly complaining about unpaid salaries, describing the situation as severe economic strain.

Trump also stated that reopening the strait without broader terms would prevent any future agreement with Iran.

🔹 US INCREASES PRESSURE ON IRAN-BACKED MILITIAS IN IRAQ: The Wall Street Journal reports the Trump administration has suspended dollar shipments to Iraq to pressure Iran-backed militias. U.S. officials said Iraq’s failure to prevent attacks by these militias is harming relations with Washington, which expects Baghdad to take steps to dismantle them.

❌ IRAN EXECUTES MAN ACCUSED OF SPYING FOR MOSSAD: Iran executed Mehdi Farid, who was accused of spying for the Israeli intelligence service Mossad. According to the report, he worked in a management role in Iran’s Passive Defense Organization, established contact with Mossad online, and then provided sensitive information.
