⚠️ HOME FRONT COMMAND: MISSILE BLAST WAVES ARE LETHAL; ALERT SYSTEMS ARE BEING REFINED: Commander of the Home Front Command MG Shay Klapper visited the site of the Iranian missile impact in the Zarzir Local Council, where the missile struck near homes and damage was caused by the blast wave.
He emphasized that most people who were saved were inside proper protected spaces and were not harmed, while those outside proper protected spaces were injured.
Klapper also said the Home Front Command has been improving and upgrading its alert systems in recent days to reduce the size of areas receiving preliminary alerts, so fewer people receive them unnecessarily.
Remarks by the Commander of the Home Front Command, MG Shay Klapper:
“I am here in the Zarzir Local Council, in the area where the Iranian missile struck. This is a missile that hit near homes, and the damage was caused by the blast wave. This blast wave is lethal and extremely significant. Most of the people who were saved were in a proper protected space. Those who were in a proper protected space were not harmed or injured. Those who were not in a proper protected space were injured — this underscores the importance of following the instructions and being in a proper protected space. I would like to add that in recent days we have been taking steps to improve and upgrade our alert systems, with the aim of reducing the areas receiving preliminary alerts. Alongside this, we are working to refine the preliminary alert so that fewer people receive it unnecessarily. I would also like to express tremendous appreciation to the emergency organizations and to the Search and Rescue troops of the Home Front Command, who are deployed nationwide and working around the clock, 24/7. We are in a prolonged operation; we will continue to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command and demonstrate resilience and steadfastness.”
