⚠️ Home front emergency extended: Following a situational assessment, Home Front Command defensive guidelines remain unchanged and in effect until Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 20:00.
The government voted to extend the special situation on the home front until May 7 due to continued rocket fire from Lebanon and uncertainty regarding Iran.
⚠️ KATZ WARNS HEZBOLLAH AND LEBANESE LEADERSHIP: Defense Minister Israel Katz met today with UN special coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert and warned that Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem is “playing with fire.”
⚠️ NO CEASEFIRE UNDER FIRE: Katz said Israel will not accept a ceasefire while attacks continue against IDF forces and Galilee communities.
⚠️ WARNING TO THE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT: Katz warned that if the Lebanese government continues to shelter under Hezbollah, the consequences will extend across the country.
"If the Lebanese government continues to shelter under the shadow of the Hezbollah terror organization, fire will burn the cedars of Lebanon."
"The fire will burn Hezbollah and all of Lebanon," he added.
⚠️ DEMAND FOR HEZBOLLAH DISARMAMENT: Katz said the Lebanese government must ensure Hezbollah is disarmed, first south of the Litani River and then across the entire country.
"The Lebanese government must ensure the disarmament of Hezbollah south of the Litani River up to the Yellow Line, as well as throughout the entire country. There will be no ceasefire in Lebanon as long as attacks on our forces and Galilee towns continue."
‼️ Netanyahu: Israel retains freedom of action in Lebanon: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told IDF senior commanders that Israel retains full freedom of action to strike immediate and emerging threats in Lebanon, including in the security zone and north of the Litani River.
He said this operational latitude is based on understandings with both the United States and the Lebanese government.
Netanyahu said Israel has dismantled much of Hezbollah’s rocket infrastructure and established a security zone to prevent cross-border incursions and direct anti-tank fire.
He said Hezbollah retains roughly 10% of its pre-war missile arsenal but continues to disrupt life in northern Israel.
Remaining focus: rockets and UAVs: Netanyahu identified short-range 122mm rockets and UAV capabilities as Hezbollah’s main remaining threats.
He said addressing them will require a combined operational and technological effort already underway by the defense establishment.
Neutralizing those threats, Netanyahu said, is critical to dismantling Hezbollah’s core military capabilities and advancing the political dimension of the conflict.
🪖 Golani troops eliminate Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon: Troops from the Golani Brigade, remain deployed in the Forward Defense Area to prevent direct threats to northern Israeli communities.
During operations, the troops identified armed terrorists posing an immediate threat and eliminated them in close-quarters combat and a drone strike, in cooperation with the Multidimensional Unit.
🚀 Hezbollah weapons depots located: In a separate operation, Golani troops located several Hezbollah weapons depots and ammunition stockpiles.
The weapons included anti-tank explosive devices, explosive UAVs, remote detonation systems, RPG rockets, Kalashnikov rifles, explosive devices, hand grenades, and military equipment.
