🛡️ IRAN CLAIMS STRIKES ON U.S. FORCES AS REPORT DETAILS AMERICAN CASUALTIES: The IRGC claimed it targeted U.S. aircraft at Aqaba Airport using intelligence provided by people in Jordan, causing heavy damage and casualties.
Iran said two ballistic missiles targeted U.S. Army C-17 transport planes and P-8 command-and-control aircraft at the airport.
Iran later launched four ballistic missiles toward King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba. All four were intercepted.
The New York Times reported that dozens of American soldiers have been injured in Iranian attacks in Jordan during recent weeks. Iranian strikes reportedly damaged several military helicopters, while most incidents were not publicly announced by CENTCOM.
A drone attack reportedly targeted an American early-warning radar system. A separate strike hit an equipment shed and an American MQ-9 drone hangar at Ali al-Salem Air Base, setting several drones on fire.
U.S. officials said CENTCOM is not required to disclose non-fatal casualties, particularly when personnel are expected to return quickly to duty. Officials said withholding details also prevents Iran from obtaining tactical information that could help refine future drone and ballistic-missile attacks against U.S. bases in the Middle East.
The report highlighted growing criticism over the presentation of U.S. casualties and operational costs. Some service members reportedly described severe injuries despite their official classification as “minor.”
The IRGC Navy additionally stated: “Attacked the drone maintenance and repair sheds of the American units stationed at Al-Sakhir Air Base in Bahrain, which resulted in their destruction. Attacked the TF59 vessel preparation sheds in Bahrain’s Salman Port, which resulted in its destruction and heavy damage to the vessels. Setting fire to the sheds where the naval special commando forces were stationed, supported, and equipped at the Arifjan base in Kuwait, and completely destroying them.”
⚓ IRAN THREATENS HORMUZ ACCESS AS COMMERCIAL SHIPS ARE STRUCK: The Iranian Army warned that countries cooperating with the United States and siding with Iran’s enemies could face difficulties passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
It said these countries had previously benefited from the strait’s capabilities to export goods and oil but had recently aligned themselves with Iran’s enemies.
The IRGC claimed that two oil tankers attempting to use the southern route through the Strait of Hormuz exploded and stopped moving late last night following what it called U.S. instigation.
Fars News Agency published footage it said showed one or both vessels targeted while attempting to pass through the southern shipping lane.
Reuters reported that a fire broke out aboard a Greek cargo ship after it was struck by an unidentified projectile near the Strait of Hormuz.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations agency reported that a ship was struck by a projectile 17 nautical miles east of the UAE. No casualties were reported.
The IRGC also claimed that an MQ-9 drone was intercepted and shot down over Eslamabad-e Gharb.
The United Nations warned: “The threats made by the Houthis to target ships are likely to lead to a significant escalation of tensions in the region”.
