🪖 GROUND OPERATIONS AND WEAPONS DISCOVERY: IDF troops from the 162nd Division are continuing targeted ground operations in southern Lebanon focused on dismantling Hezbollah infrastructure. During activity led by the 401st Brigade, forces identified a shaft connected to underground infrastructure from which a terrorist emerged and was eliminated in close-quarters combat. Troops entered the shaft and uncovered a weapons cache including explosives, rockets, RPG launchers, and grenades.
The 215th Fire Brigade carried out strikes that eliminated more than 70 terrorists, including a cell that had planned mortar fire attacks against IDF troops. In a separate incident, troops identified two terrorists entering a Hezbollah-used structure, which was struck by the Israeli Air Force under troop direction, resulting in their elimination.
Forces dismantled Hezbollah staging positions where additional weapons were located, along with anti-tank launch positions, observation posts, and command centers. Separately, Nahal Brigade troops located large quantities of weapons and destroyed dozens of terrorist infrastructures, including anti-tank positions aimed at IDF forces operating in the area.
❌ ELIMINATION OF LEBANESE RESISTANCE BRIGADES COMMANDER AND OPERATIVES: The IDF says it eliminated Maher Qassem Hamdan, Commander of the Lebanese Resistance Brigades in the Chebaa area of southern Lebanon.
Hamdan was responsible for terrorist recruitment, weapons supply, and funding for the organization in Chebaa. He was eliminated together with 8 additional terrorists while they were fleeing from the Chebaa area toward Sidon. The Lebanese Resistance Brigades is funded by Hezbollah and directly connected to it, and its operatives take part in attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians.
❌ HEZBOLLAH SECRETARY-GENERAL’S AIDE ELIMINATED IN BEIRUT: The IDF says Ali Yusuf Harshi, personal secretary and nephew of Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem, was eliminated in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut yesterday.
Harshi was a close associate and personal advisor to Qassem and played a central role in managing and securing his office.
💥 OVERNIGHT STRIKES ON HEZBOLLAH INFRASTRUCTURE: Overnight, the IDF struck a series of Hezbollah terror infrastructure sites across Lebanon.
The targets included two key crossings used by Hezbollah terrorists and commanders to move from north to south of the Litani River while transferring thousands of weapons, rockets, and launchers. The IDF also struck approximately 10 weapons storage facilities, launchers, and command centers used by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
🔹 CASUALTY FIGURES FROM LEBANON: Lebanese Civil Defense told Al Jazeera that 17 people were killed in two Israeli airstrikes on the towns of Zarariyeh and Abbasiyah.
Lebanese Health Minister says the overall death toll from yesterday’s Israeli airstrikes has risen to 203, with around 1,000 injured.
⚠️ ISRAELI MILITARY AND POLITICAL MESSAGING: Prime Minister Netanyahu stated: "Israel will strike Hezbollah wherever necessary".
An Israeli military official told Maariv that the IDF is surrounding the city of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon with the aim of seizing it. Reuters, citing Israeli military officials, reported that establishing buffer zones in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon marks a strategic shift following the October 7 attacks. Reuters also cited an Israeli military official as saying the Litani River will not form a new border with Lebanon and that Israel will monitor the buffer zone using ground forces for raids without permanent military positioning.
