๐ฅ UNDERGROUND HEZBOLLAH HEADQUARTERS DISMANTLED: The 401st Brigade Combat Team and Yahalom Unit dismantled an approximately 55-meter underground Hezbollah tunnel beneath a construction materials factory in Haddatha.
Soldiers from the 601st Battalion and Yahalom Unit found that the tunnel served as a Hezbollah headquarters and contained three living quarters. It was located approximately 300 meters from a UNIFIL building.
Troops also located a connected underground shaft containing dozens of weapons.
โ WEAPONS FOUND IN CIVILIAN INFRASTRUCTURE: Reserve troops of the 55th Brigade, under the 91st Division, located dozens of weapons inside civilian infrastructure in Majdal Zoun, within the Security Zone in southern Lebanon.
The weapons included Kalashnikov rifles, magazines, ammunition, grenades, explosives, explosive devices, anti-tank missiles and mortar shells. Troops also dismantled structures previously used by Hezbollah.
๐ก๏ธ IDF CHIEF CALLS FOR MILITARY EXPANSION: IDF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir told troops of the Hasmonean Brigadeโs Jonathan Battalion that a central lesson of the October 7 massacre is that the IDF must expand, reinforce its ranks and establish additional battalions and brigades.
Zamir said ultra-Orthodox integration is vital to Israelโs security and must allow soldiers to preserve their faith and way of life. He called for the Jonathan Battalion model to be expanded and the Hasmonean Brigade developed into a full combat brigade, broadening military service and reducing the prolonged burden on reservists.
๐ IDF TO REMAIN IN LEBANON SECURITY ZONE: During a visit with Northern Command and Kfir Brigade troops, Zamir said the IDF has established a Security Zone inside Lebanon and is clearing Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure previously used to threaten northern communities.
He said the IDF is prepared for multiple scenarios, will deepen operations if required and will not withdraw from the Security Zone until long-term security is ensured.
Zamir added that operations continue in Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, Judea and Samaria and other arenas, requiring a larger IDF. The goal is to allow regular brigades time for recovery and training by the High Holiday period while reducing reserve service as much as possible.
โ ๏ธ ISRAELI ACTIVISTS CROSS INTO SYRIA: Two Israeli activists associated with the Bashan Pioneers illegally crossed into Syria from the Mount Hermon area. IDF troops located them, returned them to Israel and transferred them to police custody.
The group advocates establishing Israeli communities in southern Syria. The incident followed a similar crossing Wednesday involving three Israelis, amid a recent increase in such attempts.
The IDF strongly condemned the repeated incidents, warning that they disrupt operational activity, endanger troops and constitute a criminal offense. It called on law enforcement authorities to prosecute those involved and prevent additional crossings.
No charges have reportedly been filed in previous cases, while some coalition lawmakers have expressed support for the activists.
