⚔️ IDF CHIEF OF STAFF: CEASEFIRE REMAINS FRAGILE, READINESS MUST REMAIN HIGH: IDF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir conducted a situational assessment in southern Lebanon alongside Northern Command Commander and additional senior officers.
Zamir praised the troops for their operational achievements, dedication, and resilience, stating that Israel remains engaged in an unprecedented multi-front campaign. He said the IDF's objective remains unchanged: defending northern Israeli communities and Israeli civilians while preventing the re-establishment of terrorist infrastructure along Israel's borders.
He stated that operations in the Ali al-Taher and Beaufort areas are part of that effort, describing the sector as a major Hezbollah underground military fortress that took approximately two decades to build.
Referring to lessons learned from October 7, Zamir said Israel will no longer accept a security reality in which radical terrorist organizations entrench themselves adjacent to its borders.
He stated that Hezbollah has suffered a severe blow and remains in a difficult position, adding that IDF operations over the past two days neutralized a significant tier of mid-level commanders within Hezbollah's Badr Units and other formations.
Zamir warned that the current ceasefire remains fragile and stressed that the IDF must maintain a high level of readiness for renewed combat, rapid offensive action, and continued threat elimination if required.
"The ceasefire that has been declared is fragile, and we must maintain a high level of readiness for the renewal of combat operations, the elimination of threats, and a rapid transition to renewed operations if required."
He emphasized that all available IDF resources are allocated to that mission.
🕯️ TRIBUTE TO FALLEN TROOPS AND 401ST BRIGADE: Zamir expressed sorrow over the loss of LTC Dor Gedalia Ben Simhon and his team, calling the loss painful and noting the heavy price being paid in defense of Israel.
Addressing the 401st Brigade, he praised its determination and resilience despite significant wartime losses.
"The 401st Brigade cannot be stopped. This is your spirit; this is the spirit of the IDF."
🛡️ HOME FRONT COMMAND LIFTS NORTHERN BORDER RESTRICTIONS: Following a fresh assessment, the Home Front Command announced that beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, all restrictions will be lifted in the Confrontation Line area as the ceasefire with Hezbollah appears to be holding.
The communities of Safsufa, Meron, Or HaGanuz, Bar Yochai, Yesud HaMa’ala, Kisra-Sumei, Beit Jann, and Sde Eliezer will move from a partial activity level to full activity with no restrictions.
Current limits of 100 people outdoors and 400 people indoors in northern border communities will be removed.
The Home Front Command urged the public to continue following official instructions and noted that any future changes to defensive guidelines will be announced through official Home Front Command and IDF platforms.
