The merchant vessel M/V Sevan, identified as one of 19 ships recently sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury for transporting Iranian energy products, was intercepted in the Arabian Sea by a U.S. Navy helicopter operating from the USS Pinckney. The vessel is now complying with orders to return toward Iran under U.S. military escort.
βοΈ Political developments in Israel ahead of elections: Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced the formation of a joint political bloc with Yair Lapid under the name βTogether.β
President Isaac Herzog congratulated Bennett and said he welcomes the alliance, calling it a βmuch needed change.β
Likud responded: "Even together it is clear - the driver is Mansour [Mansour Abbas, head of the ultraconservative United Arab List]. No matter how the left divides its votes.
