❗️ HEZBOLLAH DRONE STRIKE NEAR SHOMERA: A Hezbollah drone launched from Lebanon struck an IDF military position near the northern border community of Shomera, wounding 12 soldiers. Two were moderately injured, while the others are in good condition.
The drone hit an armored cargo carrier used to transport artillery shells, causing it to catch fire and triggering explosions of nearby munitions. The IDF is investigating whether the drone was guided by a fiber optic cable, which cannot be disrupted by electronic jamming. Hezbollah has used similar fiber optic-guided drones in recent attacks in southern Lebanon.
⚠️ IDF ISSUES EVACUATION WARNINGS IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: The warning was issued to residents of Sammaaiyeh, Hanniyeh, Qlaileh, Wadi Jilou, Kniseh, Kafra, Majdal Zoun, and Seddiqin ahead of planned airstrikes. Residents were instructed to move at least one kilometer away.
Army spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee stated: "Hezbollah activities are forcing the IDF to act against it, as it does not intend to harm you."
💥 IDF STRIKES HEZBOLLAH TARGETS: IDF forces struck Hezbollah terrorists and military infrastructure used to advance attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel. The targeted sites included military structures, command centers, and locations from which Hezbollah terrorists operated.
🛡️ AERIAL THREATS AND INTERCEPTIONS: In three separate incidents earlier today, interceptors were launched toward suspicious aerial targets near areas where IDF troops are operating in southern Lebanon. Most of the targets were successfully intercepted, while the results for several others remain under review. None crossed into Israeli territory, and no sirens were activated in accordance with protocol.
In a separate incident, sirens sounded in northern Israel after a suspicious aerial target crossed into Israeli territory. Interceptors were launched, and the outcome remains under review.
❗️ IDF MAJOR INDICTED FOR GAZA SMUGGLING: An IDF officer holding the rank of major has been indicted after a months-long investigation led by the Israel Security Agency, alongside the Israel Police, Military Police, and the Israel Tax Authority. He faces charges including aiding the enemy, bribery, and aggravated smuggling offenses.
According to the indictment, the officer coordinated the transfer of prohibited goods worth millions of shekels into Gaza Strip on January 10. The shipment included mobile phones, cigarettes, car batteries, electric bicycles, laptops, and network routers. The operation involved an Israeli civilian driving the truck, while the officer traveled ahead in a military vehicle to facilitate entry.
Prosecutors state the officer deliberately bypassed inspection and supervision systems, exploiting his rank and authority while falsely presenting the activity as legitimate to other soldiers and officers. After the initial delivery, the civilian returned to Israel with the officer, but was later brought back into Gaza to complete the transfer. The civilian reportedly remained inside the Strip for several days before being extracted.
The indictment emphasizes that the officer acted with awareness that the goods were entering Gaza without oversight and could reach terrorist organizations, including Hamas. It further states he either knew or ignored the possibility that bringing an Israeli civilian into Gaza could directly assist hostile elements.
In a joint statement, the IDF, Shin Bet, and Israel Police described smuggling into Gaza as a serious national security threat, particularly when carried out by serving or reserve IDF personnel.
