That’s where Israel’s Navy SEALs (Shayetet 13) come in.

Since 2018, American Friends of Israel Navy SEALs (AFINS) has paired trained Shayetet 13 volunteers with reservists and veterans from other IDF units struggling with severe post-traumatic stress.
The approach is warrior-to-warrior: rebuilding trust, confidence and connection with someone who understands the realities of combat firsthand.
For more than 750 combat veterans with PTSD to date, the program has been a lifeline.
