♟️ US–ISRAEL CAMPAIGN AGAINST IRAN EXPANDS WITH AIRSTRIKES ON MISSILE INFRASTRUCTURE, SINKING OF IRANIAN WARSHIP, DIVIDED OPERATIONAL ROLES, AND MEDICAL REINFORCEMENTS ARRIVING IN ISRAEL
🇺🇸 US defense secretary describes expanding campaign against Iran: US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said during a briefing that “America is winning decisively, devastatingly, and without mercy” under President Trump's direct command in Operation Epic Fury, which he said was launched early Saturday morning.
Hegseth said the operation is being carried out by the War Department and will involve flying “all day, all night” to target Iran’s missile and defense infrastructure, as well as military leaders. He said that within a week, the US and Israeli air forces would have “complete control” of Iranian airspace, describing it as “uncontested.”
Hegseth said Iranian leaders would see only US and Israeli air power over Tehran and other key areas. He also announced the US will deploy its unlimited stockpile of precision gravity bombs to target Iranian military assets.
Hegseth confirmed that an American submarine sank an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean, which had believed “it was safe in international waters.” “The Iranian Navy rests at the bottom of the Persian Gulf,” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said.
🇮🇱🇺🇸 IDF outlines division of responsibilities with US forces: The Israeli military said Israel and the United States are dividing operational responsibilities in the campaign against Iran by geography, target types, and relative advantage.
The Israeli Air Force has been operating against Iranian ballistic missile launchers and other military assets in western and central Iran, which the military said are used to fire long-range ballistic missiles at Israel. The American military has been operating against Iranian missile launchers in southern Iran, which it said have been used to fire shorter-range missiles at US bases in the Gulf.
The US has taken responsibility for targeting the entire Iranian Navy, according to the Israeli military. Israel has focused on other targets based on relative advantage, including regime sites in Tehran.
The IDF said the IAF has relied heavily on US aerial refueling capabilities and that dozens of US refueling tankers have been stationed in Israel during the conflict.
🤝 Joint coordination and daily senior-level contact: Israeli military officials described the conflict as the first full-scale joint war between Israel and the United States following extensive joint planning in recent months.
The IDF said “joint coordination cells” in Israel and the United States are synchronizing intelligence, targets, and defense. The military said more than 1,000 American troops are stationed in Israel. “This is a war in English,” a military official said.
The IDF said Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has been speaking with US CENTCOM chief Adm. Brad Cooper daily.
🏥 MEDICAL REINFORCEMENTS EN ROUTE TO ISRAEL FROM CYPRUS: Dozens of medical personnel are traveling to Israel from Cyprus aboard a vessel operated by ZIM Integrated Shipping Services under the supervision of the Israeli Health Ministry. The team is expected to arrive in Haifa on Tuesday morning.
The group reportedly includes several senior physicians who will reinforce medical teams at Sheba Medical Center, Rambam Health Care Campus, and Galilee Medical Center. ZIM President and CEO Eli Glickman said the company has made its ships and infrastructure available during the current security situation and is redirecting container vessels to transport medical personnel and critical supplies in coordination with the Transportation Ministry led by Miri Regev.
Glickman said ZIM will continue transporting essential personnel and goods to Israel for as long as the government requires.
