🚨 U.S. STRIKES IRGC MINE-LAYING VESSELS IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ AS WASHINGTON WARNS IRAN THE WATERWAY “WILL BE OPEN ONE WAY OR THE OTHER”
💥 U.S. aircraft struck two IRGC Navy speedboats near Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, killing at least four Iranian personnel.
The strikes reportedly occurred roughly 48 hours before the information surfaced publicly, with Iranian media allegedly pressured not to publish details in order to avoid disrupting ongoing ceasefire negotiations.
A CENTCOM spokesman told Fox News: “We carried out self-defense attacks in southern Iran on Monday. The strikes targeted missile launch platforms and boats that were attempting to plant mines”.
According to Fox News, U.S. forces destroyed two IRGC vessels while they were laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz and also struck a SAM site in Bandar Abbas that was targeting U.S. aircraft.
A senior U.S. official said: “These were defensive strikes,” adding they do not mean the ceasefire has ended.
Officials said the operation concluded after missile launch sites were destroyed and emphasized that the strikes were defensive in nature, not an attempt to violate the ceasefire.
🔱 Conflicting reports emerged regarding U.S. naval operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. Navy resumed escorting ships through the waterway under a renewed “Project Freedom” mission and is expected to assist about a dozen vessels, including tankers and container ships, in the coming days.
A U.S. official later told Al Jazeera: “The reports about US forces resuming the escort of commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz are not accurate. American forces are not currently escorting commercial maritime shipping in the Strait of Hormuz”.
❗️Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the Strait of Hormuz “has to be open, one way or the other”.
Rubio told reporters that negotiations over the language of a potential agreement with Iran could still “take a few days.”
Rubio added: “The straits need to be open — they’re going to be open one way or the other. So they need to be open.”
“What’s happening there is unlawful, it’s illegal, it’s unsustainable for the world, it’s unacceptable.”
“The straits need to be open, unimpeded, without tolls. And obviously that needs to happen immediately, as soon as anything’s agreed to.”
🚨 President Trump will convene a rare full Cabinet meeting at Camp David on Wednesday as negotiations with Iran enter a critical phase.
Fox News and The New York Post reported that Iran is expected to dominate the agenda, including recent U.S. strikes, ceasefire negotiations, the nuclear deal, and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
President Trump stated: “The Enriched Uranium (Nuclear Dust!) will either be immediately turned over to the United States to be brought home and destroyed or, preferably, in conjunction and coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran, destroyed in place or, at another acceptable location, with the Atomic Energy Commission, or its equivalent, being witness to this process and event”
❗️Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei claimed Israel is approaching “the end” of its existence.
He added: “The nations and lands of the region will no longer serve as shields for American bases”.
📃Saudi Arabia and Pakistan reportedly rejected President Trump’s call for regional states involved in the Iran deal to join the Abraham Accords.
