🚨 U.S. STRIKES IRAN AS ISRAEL PREPARES LEBANON WITHDRAWAL AND POSSIBLE HEZBOLLAH RESPONSE
✈️ U.S. expands strikes on southern Iran after another attack on commercial shipping: Flight tracking indicates four U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotankers and one KC-46A Pegasus are airborne from bases in Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, supporting ongoing U.S. air operations over southern Iran.
Iranian media reported explosions near Tahrouyi village in the Sirik area, saying several projectiles struck a telecommunications tower. Fars News Agency also reported an explosion in the village of Misan on Qeshm Island. Additional U.S. strikes were reported in Kong / Bandar Lengeh.
A U.S. official told Axios: "The U.S. military is conducting strikes on Iranian targets in the area of the Strait of Hormuz in retaliation for Iranian attack this morning on a commercial tanker".
A U.S. official told Fox News: "Current US strike on Iran is larger than last night's".
CENTCOM stated: "After yesterday's U.S. strikes in response to the Iranian attack on M/V Ever Lovely, Iran was given a chance to honor the ceasefire agreement but elected not to when its forces launched a one-way attack drone that hit M/T Kiku this morning at 4:30 a.m. ET. The Panama-flagged tanker was transiting near the Strait of Hormuz with more than two-million barrels of crude oil. CENTCOM forces launched strikes today in direct response to continued Iranian aggression against commercial shipping. U.S. military aircraft targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites, drone storage facilities, and minelayer capabilities".
Reported strike locations include four new U.S. airstrikes on Sirik, southern Iran, a single strike on Qeshm Island, and additional strikes on Kong / Bandar Lengeh.
🚨 Israel preparing for possible Hezbollah response: The Israeli defense establishment is preparing for potential military escalation in the northern sector based on intelligence assessments that Hezbollah could launch attacks against the IDF within days in response to the framework agreement, according to a security source cited by ynet.
The source said Hezbollah "will not sit idly by," while emphasizing that Israel retains unrestricted freedom of action to remove threats and respond to any active hostility.
🔸 U.S.-led coordination mechanism taking shape: According to a diplomatic source cited by Al-Jadeed, an American-Lebanese-Israeli coordination team will begin work early next week to define two agreed regions inside and outside the Yellow Line and establish a timetable for Israeli withdrawal through the MTC Committee.
The source said the framework resembles "the Iranian–American memorandum of understanding," with broad principles agreed while implementation details remain under consultation.
The military forces assisting Lebanon are expected to include the U.S. Army alongside Britain and France through the domestic army command, while the regional Arab role will be deferred for discussion until after the Israeli withdrawal.
An upcoming U.S. announcement is expected to deliver major guarantees and commitments to Lebanon, explicitly including support for the army, structural reconstruction, and the repatriation of displaced residents.
📍 Israel preparing initial withdrawal from southern Lebanon: According to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority and an official statement, the IDF is preparing to begin withdrawing tomorrow from two experimental zones in the Nabatieh area villages of Zawtar al-Gharbiya and Frun, with additional sectors under planning.
The move follows Prime Minister Netanyahu's confirmation that troops will "begin withdrawing from the experimental areas."
Channel 13 reports the commander of U.S. Central Command is expected to head to the northern region to review the initial operational steps for the commencement of the Israeli military withdrawal.
