⚠️ U.S.-IRAN TALKS COLLAPSE AS TRUMP SETS DEADLINE FOR BLOCKADE AND DEMANDS END TO ENRICHMENT; IRAN THREATENS REGIONAL PORTS
⚠️ IRAN WARNS OF BROADER MARITIME ESCALATION: Iran’s Armed Forces (Khatam al-Anbiya Central HQ) said any threat to Iranian port security would affect maritime security across the region.
"Security of ports in the Gulf and the Sea of Oman is either for everyone or for no one. If the security of ports of Iran is threatened, no port in the Gulf or the Sea of Oman will remain safe".
⚠️ U.S. WEIGHS BLOCKADE AND POSSIBLE STRIKES: President Trump is considering next steps against Iran following the collapse of talks, including a temporary naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Options also include limited military strikes on infrastructure, while a full-scale bombing campaign remains on the table but is considered unlikely due to the risk of regional destabilization and a prolonged conflict.
⚠️ NETANYAHU: TALKS COLLAPSED OVER IRANIAN VIOLATION: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he spoke yesterday with Vice President JD Vance, who called from his plane on his way back from Pakistan and detailed the collapse of the talks.
He said the breakdown came from the American side after what he described as a blatant Iranian violation of the agreement, under which the fire was to stop and Iran was to immediately open the corridors.
⚠️ TRUMP’S CORE DEMAND: NO ENRICHMENT IN IRAN: Netanyahu said Vance made clear that President Trump’s main issue is the removal of all enriched material.
He said the U.S. also wants to ensure there is no further enrichment for years, potentially for decades, meaning no enrichment inside Iran.
⚠️ ISRAEL BACKS U.S. PRESSURE ON IRAN: Netanyahu said Israel supports Trump’s firm position to impose a naval blockade on Iran.
He also warned that the ceasefire remains unstable, saying: "The ceasefire is like a coin — it can flip very quickly."
⚠️ TERMS DISCUSSED IN THE NEGOTIATIONS: According to details from the negotiations, the Americans agreed to release a certain portion of the frozen funds and end the war.
In return, they demanded a 20-year freeze on enrichment, the removal of enriched material from Iran, and free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz without tax payments.
⚠️ LARGE GAPS REMAINED IN THE TALKS: The Iranians discussed the nuclear issue contrary to instructions from Tehran.
Despite that, the gaps between the sides were described as enormous.
⚠️ TRUMP ANNOUNCES BLOCKADE DEADLINE: Trump said: "The clock is ticking: two and a half hours until the start of the naval blockade on Iran." He added: "The United States to Blockade Ships Entering or Exiting Iranian Ports on April 13 at 10:00 A.M. ET."
⚠️ TRUMP SIGNALS HE IS NOT DEPENDENT ON RENEWED TALKS: President Trump indicated he is not relying on Iran’s return to negotiations. "I don't care if they come back or not. If they don't come back, I'm fine".
☢️ RUSSIA OFFERS TO TAKE IRAN’S ENRICHED URANIUM: Russia said it is prepared to receive Iran’s enriched uranium as part of a future agreement with the United States.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the proposal was put forward by President Vladimir Putin and remains available, but has not been acted upon.
🔹 IRAN’S NEGOTIATING POSITION REMAINS UNCHANGED: Iran continues to refuse compromise on uranium enrichment.
The Washington Post reported that Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf impressed the U.S. negotiating team as a “refined and professional bargainer, and a potential leader of a new Iran”.
