πΈ U.S.-IRAN MEMORANDUM, TRUMP WARNINGS, AND HEZBOLLAH RESPONSE
πΈ DISCUSSIONS CONTINUE ON EARLIER U.S.-IRAN MEMORANDUM SIGNING: According to Axios, the United States, Iran, and mediating countries are discussing moving forward the electronic signing of the memorandum of understanding currently scheduled for Friday, possibly as soon as today.
If signed earlier, provisions relating to the Strait of Hormuz would enter into force and the United States may publish the agreement's text.
The planned Friday meeting in Switzerland between U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf is still expected to proceed and will focus on launching negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program.
Iran's Foreign Ministry said: "We are currently considering the idea of signing a memorandum of understanding between the presidents of Iran and the US remotely".
The ministry also stated: "The memorandum of understanding includes the US commitment to respect the sovereignty of Iran and the integrity of its territory".
β IRAN LINKS MEMORANDUM TO HORMUZ AND LEBANON: Iran's Foreign Ministry said Lebanon was mentioned three times in the memorandum and that the war should be ended on all fronts, especially in Lebanon.
Iran claimed the continued Israeli military presence in southern Lebanon contradicts the memorandum's provisions and warned: "The continued Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon is a violation of the memorandum of understanding, and we will take the necessary measures".
Iran also said it and Oman will cooperate in managing Hormuz and providing services to ships while consulting regional countries when necessary.
β οΈ HEZBOLLAH REJECTS ISRAELI PRESENCE IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem said: "The Washington colonial project targeting Iran has failed. Iran's power is now significant, it has a voice in the region and the world, and the balance of power will change".
He also stated: "There are no yellow or red zones, and Israel must leave".
πΊπΈ TRUMP: MEMORANDUM IS NOT FINAL: President Trump said:
"No it's not final, it's a memorandum of understanding and if I don't like it, we will go back to shooting at them, dropping bombs on their head."
He added:
"If I don't like it, if they don't behave, we will go right back to dropping bombs right smacking in the middle of their head, cause they misbehaved for 47 years".
Trump also said:
"As I expressed to the world leaders here this week, it's my hope that the peace agreement will be the beginning of a much larger deal all across the Middle East. We're very close."
π°οΈ Trump also highlighted U.S. surveillance capabilities, Space Force assets, and defended the effectiveness of the military blockade, calling it "unbelievable."
π― TRUMP RECOUNTS SOLEIMANI ELIMINATION: Trump described the elimination of IRGC Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani as a joint U.S.-Israeli operation and said:
"It was a joint venture between Israel and us."
He added:
"If I didn't kill General Soleimani, we probably wouldn't be talking right now about this deal, because he was a mad genius. They were never able to replace him".
βοΈ HUCKABEE PROPOSES DEPORTING HEZBOLLAH AND HAMAS OPERATIVES TO IRAN: U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee wrote:
"Idea: Every member of Hezbollah and Hamas deport to 'mothership' in Iran. Result? Lebanon and Israel free from Iran terror proxies. Give peace a chance."
