⚠️ Ali Akbar Velayati, senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, issued a direct warning following recent developments in Beirut. He stated that “Zero hour has arrived” and claimed launch systems were being prepared. Velayati described Hezbollah as part of the “Axis of Resistance” and warned that continued fighting in Lebanon could place economic pressure on global shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb. At the same time, high GPS jamming activity was confirmed across large parts of Israel.
🌍 Diplomatic contacts continued throughout the evening as Qatari negotiators reportedly remained in Tehran in coordination with the United States. According to CNN, the effort is aimed at preserving negotiations and preventing the collapse of a developing regional agreement. Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump reportedly spoke during the discussions, while the Prime Minister’s Office denied reports claiming Netanyahu sought an urgent meeting with Trump following the G7 summit.
⚓ Reports in Israeli media indicated that the Trump administration may be preparing to remove the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports as part of efforts to prevent a wider confrontation with Israel. Fars News Agency later claimed Iran decided against attacking Israel after receiving proposals involving a possible Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon and the removal of the blockade.
❌ The IDF reported that one soldier was moderately wounded and another lightly wounded after Hezbollah rocket fire targeted troops operating in southern Lebanon earlier in the day.
🇮🇱 Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the appointment of BG Hisham Ibrahim as Military Secretary to the Minister of Defense, following the recommendation of Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir.
📜 Pakistan announced that a Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran had been reached and is expected to be formally signed in Switzerland on Friday, June 19. Pakistani officials stated that the framework includes a declared cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. Pakistan also credited Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye for their roles in mediation efforts and said additional technical meetings are expected before the signing ceremony.
💰 Iranian sources later warned that implementation of the agreement would depend on a full withdrawal and the release of $12 billion. Iran-linked media also stated that Israel is expected to remain in Lebanon until Hezbollah is disarmed, despite references to Lebanon within the proposed arrangement.
