🌍 Diplomatic tensions intensified after Israel’s strike in Beirut’s Dahieh district reportedly disrupted final stages of a developing U.S.-Iran agreement.
According to Channel 12, the strike occurred roughly one hour before the planned signing of a U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding. A source cited by Fars News Agency said Tehran had still not made a final decision regarding the proposal.
📞 President Trump sharply criticized the Beirut strike during conversations with Prime Minister Netanyahu, according to Fox News, Axios, and Channel 12.
Trump reportedly argued the strike was disproportionate to Hezbollah’s earlier fire and warned that additional Israeli operations in Lebanon could jeopardize the agreement. He also stated he would seek to prevent an Iranian missile response following the attack.
Trump later said the agreement remained possible despite the delay and could still be finalized within hours.
🛰️ Israeli assessments cited by Channel 12 suggested Washington may consider concessions toward Iran in an effort to prevent retaliation over the Dahieh strike.
The nature of any possible concession remains unclear, while reports described ongoing back-channel contacts involving multiple intermediaries.
🇷🇺 The Kremlin confirmed that President Vladimir Putin and President Trump held a telephone conversation marking their 13th call in 18 months.
According to the Kremlin, Trump informed Putin that a major U.S.-Iran agreement had been finalized and could soon be publicly announced. Putin reportedly welcomed the diplomatic progress and praised efforts aimed at preventing wider regional conflict.
☢️ President Trump defended the proposed agreement as a framework intended to permanently prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
He stated the agreement would eliminate Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile, establish inspection mechanisms, and avoid direct financial transfers to Tehran. Trump also contrasted the arrangement with the Obama-era JCPOA, describing it as fundamentally different in structure and outcome.
Trump additionally stated that if the agreement were signed, the Strait of Hormuz would reopen fully to maritime traffic and the naval blockade on Iran would be lifted.
🧱 CNN, citing five sources familiar with U.S. intelligence assessments, reported that Iran deliberately collapsed tunnels and booby-trapped entrances connected to sites containing enriched uranium.
According to the report, access to roughly half a ton of highly enriched uranium has become significantly more difficult and time-consuming than it was one month earlier.
⚠️ Iranian officials publicly rejected a reported U.S. proposal involving the release of frozen Iranian funds in exchange for refraining from retaliation over the Beirut strike.
Iranian sources stated that retaliation preparations were underway and emphasized that Tehran would not abandon allied organizations.
At the same time, a Western source cited by Channel 12 said Iran was still considering elements of President Trump’s proposal despite the public rejection.

Flightradar24 data showed civilian air traffic over Iran had largely ceased while neighboring regional airspace continued operating normally.
