🚢 U.S. DEPLOYS USS GERALD R. FORD TO JOIN USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN IN DUAL-CARRIER MIDDLE EAST PRESENCE AIMED AT EXPANDING STRIKE CAPACITY AND DETERRENCE TOWARD IRAN
🚢 Two U.S. Carrier Strike Groups To Operate Simultaneously In The Middle East: The United States has ordered the deployment of the USS Gerald R. Ford from the Caribbean toward the Middle East. The USS Gerald R. Ford is the world’s largest and most advanced aircraft carrier and is expected to arrive in the region in the coming weeks, where it is expected to operate alongside existing U.S. naval forces.
The United States currently has the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and its strike group operating in or near the Middle East. The strike group includes guided-missile destroyers and support vessels that provide air power, surveillance, and rapid strike capabilities. President Trump previously described the expanding U.S. naval buildup as a “big armada” heading to the Middle East, focused on Iran, adding that he hoped it would not have to be used.
Once both carrier strike groups are operating in the region, the deployment is expected to significantly expand U.S. operational flexibility, strengthen regional deterrence, and increase available airpower. When asked about the timeline for potential diplomatic developments with Iran, President Trump stated that progress could occur “over the next month, something like that.” The expected dual-carrier presence would mark the first time since the early phase of the Gaza war that two U.S. carrier strike groups operate simultaneously in the broader Middle East region.

🛰️ Satellite Imagery Shows Intensified Activity Near Natanz Tunnel Complex: The Institute for Science and International Security reported that satellite images from February 10 showed intensive activity at the tunnel complex near the Natanz enrichment site, known as Pickaxe Mountain.
Heavy equipment including dump trucks, concrete mixers, and cranes was observed, along with concrete pouring at the western entrance and soil and rock compaction over eastern entrances. Reinforced concrete entrance structures have recently been added, providing an additional layer of protection against potential air attacks.
The facility is not operational, but the presence of small enclosed vehicles suggests interior equipping may have begun. The size of the site and the protection provided by the mountain raised suspicion of additional sensitive activity, including uranium enrichment.
