⚠️ Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said the U.S. has contingency plans for escalation, retrograde operations, and shifting military assets if necessary. He declined to discuss possible next steps due to “the gravity of the mission that President Trump is undertaking to ensure that Iran never has a nuclear bomb.”
⚠️ CNN reported that President Trump consulted with his team at the White House regarding a possible resumption of fighting in Iran. Sources said he has become increasingly frustrated with Iran’s handling of negotiations and is now more seriously considering renewed combat operations than in previous weeks.
According to CNN, Trump is particularly frustrated by the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz and what he views as divisions within Iran’s leadership preventing meaningful concessions on nuclear talks. Administration officials remain divided between tougher military measures and continued diplomacy.

🔱 As U.S. blockade pressure increases, Iran is reportedly shifting financial operations through Turkey using crypto, cash, gold, and informal hawala networks to bypass sanctions. According to Channel 14 sources, Chinese payments for Iranian oil are also flowing through Turkey, while private jets reportedly continue operating on the Russia-Turkey-Iran route carrying cash and gold.
💥 The Wall Street Journal reported that the UAE carried out undisclosed strikes on Iran, including an attack on the Lavan Oil Refinery Company on Lavan Island in April. The strike reportedly caused a large fire and disabled the refinery for months.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Iran later retaliated with missile and drone attacks targeting the UAE and Kuwait. The report said the Pentagon did not express dissatisfaction over the Emirati strikes despite them taking place during the ceasefire, and President Trump was pleased another country had joined the campaign against Iran.
🇮🇱 U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee confirmed that Israel sent Iron Dome batteries and personnel to the UAE to help operate them. Huckabee said there is an “extraordinary relationship” between Israel and the UAE.
Kuwait’s Interior Ministry announced that four individuals arrested during a maritime infiltration attempt earlier this month confessed to belonging to the Iranian IRGC and said they had been tasked with carrying out attacks inside Kuwait.
Kuwaiti authorities identified the detainees as Naval Colonel Amir Hossein Abdolmohammad Zaraei, Naval Colonel Abdolsamad Yedaleh Ghanavati, Naval Captain Ahmad Jamshid Gholamreza Zolfaghari, and First Lieutenant Mohammad Hossein Sohrab Foroughi Rad.
According to Kuwaiti authorities, the group attempted to infiltrate Bubiyan Island on May 1 aboard a specially chartered fishing vessel. A clash reportedly erupted with Kuwaiti Armed Forces stationed on the island, leaving one Kuwaiti serviceman injured.
Kuwaiti authorities said two additional members of the group, Naval Captain Mansour Qambari and vessel commander Abdulali Kazem Siamri, fled during the incident and remain at large.
