🛡️ U.S. AND IRAN SIGNAL ADVANCING NUCLEAR AGREEMENT AS ISRAEL ORDERS IDF PREPARATIONS AND DECLARES SECURITY ZONES WILL REMAIN
🔸 IRAN AND U.S. SIGNAL PROGRESS TOWARD AGREEMENT: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated: “The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding has never been closer. Pending its finalization, the media should refrain from entering speculation about its content. In line with our responsible and transparent approach, all details will be shared with the public in due course.”
US Vice President JD Vance stated: "I'm seeing a lot of fake information about a potential deal to reopen the Strait and end Iran's nuclear weapons program. First, the Iranians are not receiving any cash, and no funds are being released for simply signing a deal or attending a meeting. The deal is structured to ensure that the US and its allies concerns are prioritized, and that if Iran meets its obligations, then economic benefits will flow to them and to the entire region. This deal has the potential to remake the region and lead to lasting peace".
A White House official added: "Iran has agreed to a performance-based deal requiring major concessions before receiving any sanctions relief. Iran's nuclear material would be destroyed and removed, its nuclear program dismantled, and no funds released until commitments are fulfilled. The Strait of Hormuz would remain open and Iran would agree to stop funding proxy groups."
🛡️ ISRAEL ORDERS IDF PREPARATIONS AND REAFFIRMS SECURITY ZONES: Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that President Trump is pursuing an agreement with Iran based on American interests, including the shared Israeli-American interest of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Katz said Israel expects this principle to be upheld, along with additional principles regarding missiles and terror proxies.
He said Israel and the United States had dealt Iran “heavy blows” that set its capabilities back “for many years,” and stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and he had instructed the IDF “to prepare accordingly” in order to preserve Israel’s ability to act independently against future Iranian nuclear threats.
Katz also declared that Israel “will not withdraw from the security zones in Lebanon, Syria, or Gaza,” and said the IDF would continue operating from Mount Hermon, the Lebanese mountains, Samaria, and most of Gaza against jihadist threats following the lessons of October 7.
Regarding Judea and Samaria, Katz stated the IDF “will not withdraw from the terror camps in northern Samaria,” which have been evacuated of residents, and said the measure could be expanded to additional terror camps if necessary.
Katz added: “Our security doctrine is sharp and clear: we act against threats both near and far, and we strive for decisive outcomes rather than compromises or concessions.”
Katz expressed appreciation to IDF commanders and soldiers, and to northern residents for their steadfastness. He also sent support to bereaved families and wished a full physical and mental recovery to the wounded.
