⚠️ TRUMP TO MEET NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL ON IRAN AS REGIONAL AND DIPLOMATIC PRESSURES INTENSIFY
♟️ U.S. IRAN TALKS: Following stalled negotiations, President Trump is expected to meet today with senior officials from the National Security Council to discuss ongoing contacts with Iran.
🔸 IRAN REGIONAL DIPLOMACY: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg.
Araghchi also held a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan to discuss regional developments.
🔸 GULF PRESSURE OVER IRAN: Bahrain has revoked the citizenship of 69 individuals convicted of “communicating with foreign entities” and “glorifying Iranian attacks,” according to Al Arabiya.
Financial Times reports that the UAE withdrew $3.5 billion in deposits from Pakistan due to its mediation between Iran and the United States and its closeness to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia later compensated for the withdrawn funds.
Anwar Gargash, adviser to the Emirati president, said: “Iran is acting like a superpower, even without nuclear weapons. Imagine if it had them”.
🔸 INTERNATIONAL PRESSURE ON ISRAEL: Financial Times reports that more than 60 former British diplomats and ambassadors are calling for sanctions against Israel.
⚠️ HEZBOLLAH THREATS: A Hezbollah military leader told Al Jazeera: “We will use tactics from the 1980s and deploy suicide bomber groups to prevent the enemy from stabilizing its position. Large groups of suicide bombers are being deployed in the occupied areas according to pre-prepared plans. Their mission is to engage enemy officers and soldiers in occupied Lebanese villages”.
🌾 UKRAINE-ISRAEL TENSIONS OVER WHEAT SHIPMENTS: A senior Ukrainian diplomatic source told Axios that if the vessel PANORAMITIS, allegedly carrying wheat from territories seized by Russia, enters the Port of Haifa and unloads its cargo, it could trigger a diplomatic crisis between Ukraine and Israel.
The source said Israel has ignored previous demands regarding ships that unloaded similar cargo earlier this year.
“This feels like a slap in the face, given the strategic goodwill Ukraine has shown towards Israel: from designating the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organisation to condemning anti-Semitism. It should be beneath Israel’s dignity to profit from stolen goods.”
According to Israeli reporting, at least four ships carrying Ukrainian wheat have already been unloaded in Israel this year.
