🔸 TRUMP WARNS OF MILITARY ACTION IF IRAN TALKS FAIL: President Trump told Axios reporter Barak Ravid: “We are having deep talks with Iran. If they don't succeed, we will return to a powerful military operation.”
Trump said he agreed to a request from mediators to give negotiations an opportunity, but emphasized that the window would be short.
Trump told Israel’s Channel 12: “I responded to the mediators' request to give an opportunity for negotiations with Iran.”
“I will not give a long time for negotiations. The window of opportunity for a breakthrough in negotiations with Iran is short.”
“I am ready for strong military action if negotiations with Iran fail”.
Regarding the Houthis, Trump said: “We are not involved with the Houthis right now, but if they are a problem, we may have to get involved”.
Asked whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wanted an agreement with Iran or further strikes, Trump responded: “Bibi has been great. Iran is 8% of what they were four months ago”.
Asked how much patience he had left with Iran, Trump said: “I have plenty of time”.
One commentator criticized the recurring cycle of agreements, Iranian violations, U.S. threats, mediation and renewed negotiations, arguing that it is damaging American credibility in the region.
The commentator wrote: “I can’t overstate the absurdity of this situation: a deal gets signed, Iran breaks the deal, Trump threatens action, Pakistan and Qatar step in, and then deals are signed again—repeating endlessly.”
“The credibility of the US in the region is starting to resemble that of a used car salesman.”
“Trump needs to come clean and just say it outright: ‘I don’t want the war to start again. I’m done.’”
“At least then you could salvage some credibility, because this is complete nonsense.”
🇮🇱 NETANYAHU DEPARTS FOR WASHINGTON: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu departed for Washington, saying Iran would be the leading issue in his meeting with President Trump.
Netanyahu said: “I am on my way to Washington for a meeting with our friend, President Donald Trump.”
“This is my eighth meeting with him since he was elected president for his second term, more than any other international leader. This is a great privilege, but it is also a great responsibility.”
“From my experience as Prime Minister, during these complex times we must act with both great determination and great wisdom.”
“We will discuss all the issues on the agenda, first and foremost, Iran. Naturally, our goal is to safeguard our security and also to expand the circle of peace around us.”
“I am embarking on this mission with one clear goal – to ensure the security, strength, and future of our dear State of Israel.”
“And I am also embarking on another mission: To pay final respects to our friend, a true friend of mine and of the State of Israel, Lindsey Graham, one of the greatest friends the State of Israel has ever known.”
“And I am certain that in this matter, I also represent you, the citizens of Israel.”
⚓ OIL PRICES FALL AS U.S.-IRAN STRIKES PAUSE: Global oil prices fell sharply as a pause in U.S.-Iran strikes revived expectations of a ceasefire and opened space for negotiations over safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Al Arabiya English.
Brent crude fell more than 5%, briefly dropping below $90 per barrel. The decline followed 13 consecutive days of U.S. strikes, which ended after Washington held its fire and Tehran suspended retaliatory attacks to allow Omani-led talks to proceed.
