⚠️ TRUMP SAYS BLOCKADE ON IRAN WILL REMAIN UNTIL NUCLEAR AGREEMENT IS SIGNED; NETANYAHU DEMANDS DISMANTLING OF ENRICHMENT SITES
🔸 Trump signals no rush toward agreement: President Trump told reporters that whether a deal is reached “depends only on me,” adding: “If there’s news, it will be good — I don’t make bad deals.” He said he instructed his representatives not to rush negotiations and stressed that the blockade on Iran will remain in place until an agreement is reached, approved, and signed. Trump reiterated that Iran “cannot develop or obtain nuclear weapons.”
🔸 U.S. officials say agreement remains unresolved: A senior Trump administration official told Axios that an agreement with Iran is not expected to be signed today and that several details remain unresolved. According to the official, Iran’s approval process could take several days. The official added that Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei approved the broad framework of the agreement, but whether it becomes final “is still an open question.” Fox News reported that the emerging agreement would keep American forces near Iran for 30 days.
🔸 Iran accuses Washington of slowing progress: An Iranian source told Tasnim News Agency that disagreements remain over one or two clauses of the proposed memorandum of understanding, accusing Washington of “creating obstacles.” The source said Iran informed Pakistani mediators that continued U.S. pressure could prevent the agreement from being finalized. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated: “We are ready to assure the world that we are not seeking nuclear weapons. We are not seeking instability in the region.”
⚠️ Netanyahu says Trump backed Israel’s red lines: Prime Minister Netanyahu said he spoke with President Trump about the memorandum of understanding to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and the negotiations toward a final agreement on Iran’s nuclear program. Netanyahu said both leaders agreed that any final agreement “must eliminate the nuclear threat,” including dismantling Iran’s enrichment facilities and removing enriched nuclear material from Iranian territory. Netanyahu also said President Trump reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself “on all fronts, including Lebanon.”
♟️ Graham links agreement to Abraham Accords expansion: Senator Lindsey Graham strongly suggested that President Trump is pressing Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Pakistan to join the Abraham Accords as part of the broader regional framework surrounding the Iran negotiations. Graham called the proposal “brilliant” and warned that refusal to join “would have severe repercussions for our future relationships.”
🔸 Trump contrasts current talks with Obama-era deal: President Trump described the Obama-era Iran nuclear agreement as “one of the worst deals ever made by our Country” and said the current negotiations are “the exact opposite.” He stated that negotiations are proceeding “in an orderly and constructive manner” and repeated that “the Blockade will remain in full force and effect until an agreement is reached, certified, and signed.”
