🔸 TRUMP TO SPEAK WITH SAUDI CROWN PRINCE ON IRAN: President Trump is set to speak with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about Iran, according to CBS News. A senior Saudi official told Al Arabiya that multiple credible intelligence reports indicate coordination between the Houthis, Iraqi militias and the IRGC to prepare attacks against Saudi Arabia. The official described the reports as “shocking,” saying they come as Riyadh pursues de-escalation and believes negotiations have been progressing positively. “Saudi Arabia will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to respond to any aggression,” the source added.
🛡️ PAKISTAN, TURKEY AND SAUDI ARABIA SIGN JOINT DEFENSE AGREEMENT: The three countries signed the “Mecca Agreement.” A Turkish official told Reuters: “The agreement is not directed against any specific party and is open to other regional countries”. The Turkish Presidency said: “Any armed attack on any of the countries, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, is considered an attack on all of them”.
⚠️ REPORT: TRUMP CONFRONTED HEGSETH OVER U.S. MUNITIONS: The Washington Post reports that Trump expressed frustration during a meeting at Camp David last week, demanding answers from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over what he believed were misleading assurances about U.S. munitions stockpiles now limiting military options against Iran. Trump reportedly said: “You misled me about having enough weapons and interceptor systems. You didn't tell me there was a problem”. Hegseth reportedly blamed his deputy, claiming he was responsible for informing the President about the issue. Both the White House and Department of Defense denied the report.
Trump subsequently said: “The U.S. has massive amounts of 'munitions', especially of certain types. Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the U.S. as needed. Defense companies are building the largest number of plants and factories in our country's history. The 'leakers' of these treasonous statements are being hunted down. Long term jail sentences will be sought”.
⚠️ IRAN WARNS GULF STATES OVER NEW U.S. STRIKES: Reuters reports that Iran warned Gulf states that any new U.S. attack on Iranian territory would trigger retaliation against critical energy infrastructure across the region.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf said: “'Massive attack coming… wait, never mind, they want to negotiate'. That's theater diplomacy on loop. Using bullying + broken promises + fake news as leverage is a failed strategy. Acknowledge the facts and fulfill your commitments. We don’t need more theater”.
