⚔️ TRUMP SAYS U.S. PRESSURE WILL CONTINUE: The internal debate follows U.S. strikes on Larak Island, subsequent Iranian missiles and drones toward Jordan and the UAE, and Tuesday’s larger U.S. retaliatory operation around the Strait of Hormuz.
In a GB News interview aired September 3, Trump said the war would end “As soon as we win, which will not be long,” adding: “We’ve already won because they can’t have a nuclear weapon.” He said U.S. forces had again destroyed Iranian radar systems that Tehran rebuilt and claimed: “We’re taking out 30, 40 boats a night.”
Trump said rebuilding Iran’s capabilities would take roughly 25 years if Washington stopped now, before adding: “But we’re not going to do that.”
🛰️ U.S. MOVES AGAINST LOCATION TRACKING AND IRGC CYBER OPERATIONS: The U.S. military has disabled advertising trackers on devices after reports that commercially collected location data was used to target American forces in the Middle East. The Army, Air Force and Special Operations Command blocked advertising IDs, although lawmakers warn the measures may not fully prevent location tracking, Reuters reports.
The State Department is also offering up to $10 million for Iranian Brig. Gen. Amir Yaryab, alleged to head the IRGC Cyber Operations Command and direct IRGC-linked groups including Shahid Hammat and Shahid Shushtari in attacks against critical U.S. infrastructure.
⚠️ JORDAN AND IRAN TRADE ACCUSATIONS: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said: “Iran attacked Jordan and other regional countries two hours after the start of the war, which means its attack was not a reaction. Jordan will do everything necessary to protect its security, its citizens, and its sovereignty.”
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqhchi responded: “How much time does the Jordanian Foreign Minister believe Iran should wait before responding to an aggressor that respects neither Arab sovereignty nor Iranian sovereignty? And is he truly unaware that Arab airspace, lands, and waters were used in the initial American attacks that resulted in the killing of innocent Iranians?”
⚓ SOUTH KOREA STUDIES HORMUZ OPTIONS: South Korea’s Presidential Office said Seoul is “studying options regarding the Strait of Hormuz, including military measures,” adding that claims South Korea has provided no assistance regarding the strait are untrue.
🔸 AZERBAIJAN MEDIATES ISRAEL-TURKEY CONTACTS AS SYRIA TALKS STALL: A senior Israeli official said Azerbaijan has mediated contacts between Israel and Turkey, although dialogue has sharply declined in recent months. The official described Turkey as a “rival state” rather than an enemy amid deteriorating relations and growing tensions over Syria.
He said Israel-Syria security talks have also failed partly because Israel refuses to withdraw from the “buffer zone,” which it considers strategically important.
🇮🇱 NETANYAHU: TOPPLING IRANIAN REGIME IS CENTRAL MISSION: Prime Minister Netanyahu told the IDF General Staff Forum that toppling the Iranian regime remains Israel’s central objective: “I am convinced of our ability to remove this threat once and for all, which is to say, to topple this regime. This is the central mission that still lies before us, but it is close. It is not impossible; it is within reach.”
He added: “They do not avoid attacking us for no reason. They attack everyone, just not us. They know our strength, the might of our arm, and our determination. I say to our enemies in general: do not mess with us. If you have learned anything, do not mess with us.”
