❌ TULKARM COUNTERTERRORISM OPERATION: IDF Duvdevan commandos arrested Muhammad Ibrahim Abd al-Wahab Shahada, described by the military and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) as a senior Fatah terrorist operative, during a joint operation this morning to thwart terrorist activity in the Tulkarm area of Judea and Samaria.
The arrest followed several weeks of intelligence and operational tracking. Shahada had been wanted in recent months over alleged involvement in terrorist activity, including “planning and carrying out attacks, and trafficking in weapons,” according to the joint statement.
⚖️ IDF RESPONSE TO “NAZA” DOCUMENTARY: IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir instructed Military Advocate General Maj. Gen. Itai Ofir to examine and advance possible legal measures concerning the film and those involved in its production. He also ordered an examination of information-security issues and possible unauthorized disclosure of classified materials used in the documentary, which alleges AI-assisted killing of civilians in Gaza and includes testimonies from 24 purported Israeli intelligence soldiers.
In a separate message to troops, Zamir acknowledged: “I have not watched the film, I do not know whom they interviewed in it or who or what is behind it. The claims and events were not presented to the IDF, and therefore it is difficult to respond to the matter seriously and professionally.”
According to the IDF, Zamir held a consultation with senior commanders, including Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Tamir Yadai, Operations Directorate head Maj. Gen. Itzik Cohen, Ofir, Air Force commander Maj. Gen. Omer Tishler, Unit 8200 commander Brig. Gen. A. and IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin.
Basing his remarks explicitly on material published thus far, Zamir described the film as a deliberate attempt to undermine the legitimacy of the IDF and Israel. He accused it of relying on “blood libels, deliberate distortions of reality, and grave, false accusations against IDF soldiers and commanders,” adopting the narratives of Israel’s enemies and portraying the military as deliberately acting unlawfully. He argued that this could undermine Israel’s ability to defend itself and expose soldiers and commanders to danger.
Zamir maintained that the IDF operates according to international law and its ethical code and values, prioritizes efforts to reduce harm to uninvolved civilians, and has a significantly lower ratio of civilian casualties to terrorists than other militaries.
He ordered the establishment of a multi-agency, multidisciplinary team led by the head of the Planning Directorate, working with Israeli and international experts to formulate responses to allegations the IDF describes as false. The legal review will consider implications for soldiers’ personal safety and Israel’s national security.
Zamir also called for a broad national and international public diplomacy effort involving the Foreign Ministry, Justice Ministry, National Public Diplomacy Directorate and other relevant bodies. He pledged to use legal, command and public diplomacy tools to protect personnel and the IDF’s reputation.
Addressing troops, he said the military recognizes the importance of criticism and doubt and would continue investigating, correcting and improving: “We will continue to accept any substantive criticism and examine ourselves.” He distinguished this from what he called “false, manipulative and unfounded vilification,” saying the IDF would not allow “blood libels and lies disguised as investigative journalism” to harm Israel’s right to defend itself.
