⚓ U.S. MILITARY AND ECONOMIC MOVES ADD TO THE REGIONAL PICTURE: CENTCOM says the USS George Washington Carrier Strike Group has arrived in the Middle East and is operating within the CENTCOM area of responsibility.
Separately, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said: “We will impose the harshest sanctions on Iran, and they will lead to the collapse of the regime”.

🇱🇧 LEBANON PUBLICLY CALLS ON IRAN TO STOP INTERFERENCE: Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji said: “We urge Iranian officials to cease their interference in Lebanese affairs”.
🏛️ BEN GURION STRIKE FALLOUT SHIFTS TO POLITICAL ACCOUNTABILITY: According to Amit Segal, the Histadrut does not deny that Israel Airports Authority workers’ union chairman Pinchas Idan had previously received the backing of Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David.
Bar-David said he was surprised by the airport disruption: “I only spoke with Pinhas Idan afterward. I sent him a message, ‘Bro, what’s going on? Is this true?’ Our intervention restored order.” Segal highlighted that Idan initially maintained there was no strike before subsequently ordering employees back to work.
Segal argues that Idan’s accumulated political influence was enabled across political camps. He notes that Idan was previously a Likud Knesset candidate, controls an organized bloc of party members and has long been relied upon by senior Likud figures to deliver votes. He also argues that Likud’s opponents cannot fully distance themselves from Idan after previously celebrating the shutdown of Ben Gurion Airport following Gallant’s dismissal.
Segal cited Section 21(a)(9) of the Likud Constitution as a possible basis for expelling Idan and his vote-recruitment operative, arguing that doing so could weaken their political influence. “Free Ben Gurion Airport” activists meanwhile placed signs outside Histadrut headquarters calling for a boycott of anyone dealing with the organization.
An initial Finance Ministry estimate places the strike’s economic damage at NIS 25–30 million. Following what was described as a reckless and illegal strike that harmed citizens and the economy, Prime Minister Netanyahu instructed that Idan be expelled from Likud membership.
