🎯 IDF and Shin Bet announce abductor’s elimination: The IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) announced that terrorist operative Saher Nidal Latfi Sakr was eliminated yesterday in an aerial strike in central Gaza’s Nuseirat area. The operation was carried out together with the Israel Police’s elite Gideonim Unit 33 of Lahav 433.
According to the statement, Sakr infiltrated Israel during the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 massacre and drove the motorcycle used to abduct Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or from the Nova music festival into Gaza. Footage from the attack showed him taking Argamani to the Strip on the motorcycle.
The IDF said Sakr was affiliated with "global jihadist organisations," which operate in the Gaza Strip, and supplied weapons to the Hamas terrorist organization during the war.
Recently, Sakr had been advancing attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians, "in cooperation with terrorist operatives from the military wings of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations, in systematic violation of the ceasefire agreement," the military said. The IDF said he was eliminated to "remove a threat."
🚧 Katz orders Sukkot restrictions on Palestinian workers: Defense Minister Israel Katz said he instructed the military to impose a "general closure" on Judea and Samaria, following an IDF recommendation amid heightened tensions in the territory.
"As part of the directive, Palestinian workers will not be permitted to enter communities in Judea and Samaria during the Sukkot holiday," Katz said.
Katz said "essential workers" would still be permitted to enter industrial zones in Judea and Samaria, "in accordance with the security guidelines of the IDF Central Command." Other exceptions may be granted in accordance with "the state’s commitments to the High Court of Justice," he added.
According to data from last year, some 9,000 Palestinians had permits to work in settlements or nearby industrial zones.
