‼️ NETANYAHU SAYS ISRAEL WILL ACHIEVE WAR GOALS THROUGH AGREEMENT OR RENEWED FIGHTING AS U.S. AND IRAN CLASH OVER CEASEFIRE TERMS, LEBANON, AND URANIUM
⚠️ NETANYAHU: CAMPAIGN NOT OVER, ISRAEL READY TO RESUME FIGHTING: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel still has goals to accomplish and will achieve them either through an agreement or through renewed war whenever necessary. He says the negotiations are only a stage on the way to achieving those goals and do not mark the end of the campaign.
Netanyahu says Iran’s enriched uranium will leave Iran either by agreement or by the resumption of fighting. He also says Israel targeted family members of the IRGC’s Basij paramilitary forces during the war.
In a separate statement, Netanyahu says Israel has achieved “tremendous accomplishments,” that Iran is weaker than ever, and that Israel is stronger than ever. He says Israel remains ready to renew the fighting, with its “finger on the trigger,” and adds that the Americans did not surprise Israel with their ceasefire decision.
🇺🇸 WHITE HOUSE: IRAN SIGNALLED PRIVATELY, FIRST PROPOSAL WAS REJECTED: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says Iran has indicated to the administration that it would turn over its highly enriched uranium. She also says that before Operation Epic Fury, the Iranian Air Force flew between 30 and 100 flights per day, and that the number is now zero.
Leavitt says the original Iranian 10-point plan was “fundamentally unserious and completely unacceptable” and was rejected by President Trump and his negotiating team. She says reports claiming that proposal was acceptable to the United States are false.
On the Strait of Hormuz, Leavitt says public Iranian statements differ from what has been communicated privately. She says the U.S. has seen an uptick in traffic in the strait and repeats President Trump’s demand that it be reopened immediately, quickly, and safely.
Leavitt also says Lebanon is not part of the ceasefire and that this has been communicated to all parties involved.
🔸 IRAN: CEASEFIRE CANNOT EXCLUDE LEBANON OR ENRICHMENT: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqhchi says the Iran-U.S. ceasefire terms are “clear and explicit” and that the U.S. must choose between a ceasefire and continued war through Israel. He says “the world sees the massacres in Lebanon” and that the ball is now in Washington’s court.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf says Iran’s 10-point proposal remains the main framework for negotiations, but argues that three clauses have already been violated. He cites failure to implement a ceasefire in Lebanon, a drone entering Iranian airspace, and denial of Iran’s right to uranium enrichment.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry says the White House claim that Lebanon is not part of the ceasefire is an example of reneging on the agreement.
🇺🇸 VANCE: CEASEFIRES ARE MESSY, LEBANON SHOULD NOT DERAIL TALKS: Vice President JD Vance says the first 10-point proposal “was probably written by ChatGPT” and was rejected immediately. He says a second 10-point proposal was much more reasonable and was based on exchanges between the U.S. and the Pakistanis, while a third, more extreme version has also been circulating on social media.
Vance says if Iran wants the negotiations to collapse over Lebanon, “which has nothing to do with them,” that is Iran’s choice. He says such a decision would be “dumb,” but still Iran’s choice.
Vance also questions Ghalibaf’s understanding of the negotiations and says some of his comments did not make sense in context. On alleged ceasefire violations, Vance says ceasefires are always messy and notes that after President Trump announced the ceasefire, Iran launched missiles, Israel responded, and some Gulf Arab states also responded.
