💥 LEBANON: HEZBOLLAH DRONE ATTACK DRAWS IDF STRIKES: Hezbollah launched two explosive drones toward IDF troops operating in the Security Zone near the Ali Taher Ridge. Soldiers downed one drone, and no IDF injuries were reported. The IDF called the attack a blatant Hezbollah violation and responded with strikes across southern Lebanon.
The IDF said it targeted Hezbollah terrorists, weapons storage facilities and structures used to plan and direct attacks, as well as a command center established inside a building previously used as a hospital. According to the military, Hezbollah personnel involved in artillery and observation activities had operated from the site in recent weeks.
Ahead of a strike in Arab Salim, residents around a Hezbollah-linked building were ordered to evacuate at least 300 meters. The IDF said precise munitions and aerial surveillance were used to reduce civilian harm.
Lebanese media reported that an Israeli strike destroyed Ghandour Hospital in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, which was reportedly empty of patients and staff. Lebanese health authorities said four people were killed and 20 wounded in Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon since the morning.
🏠 NORTHERN SHIELD EXPANDS TO 89 BORDER COMMUNITIES: Israel’s expanded Northern Shield protection program will cover communities within 9 km of the Lebanese border, with eligible homeowners able to receive grants of up to NIS 182,000 for construction of a protected room, or Mamad. Applications are expected to open September 15.
The expansion is expected to add more than 15,000 Mamads across 89 communities. Approximately 11,000 apartments in multi-unit buildings will be handled centrally under a roughly NIS 4.2 billion program.
The initiative builds on approximately 3,000 Mamads already being advanced within 1 km of the border, more than half completed or being handed over, alongside protection work at more than 335 educational institutions, 1,600 additional protective shelters and renovations of more than 600 public shelters.
