📍 LEBANESE GOVERNMENT ASSERTS CONTROL AFTER IDF PILOT WITHDRAWAL: Lebanese PM Nawaf Salam made his first visit to Zawtar al-Gharbiya following the IDF’s withdrawal under the Israel-Lebanon pilot agreement. He planted the Lebanese flag, symbolically asserting Lebanon’s sovereignty over the area.
President Trump said: "After meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, who has done a remarkable job working to transform his country, I am hereby directing my administration to allow all U.S. airline carriers to fly directly to Lebanon so that Americans can easily visit this beautiful land. Hopefully, other countries will do the same. Enjoy!"
🔸 AOUN PRESENTS HEZBOLLAH DISARMAMENT PLAN TO WASHINGTON: U.S. adviser Massad Boulos described the Trump-Aoun White House meeting as “very fruitful,” covering Lebanese army support, economic cooperation, and coordination between U.S. Central Command and regional militaries.
President Trump remains “committed to moving forward” with the Lebanon-Israel agreement. While Washington has “tools to deal with Hezbollah,” its current diplomatic focus is on implementing the framework agreement.
President Joseph Aoun presented an official plan to disarm Hezbollah and expand the Lebanese army’s authority, including requests for funding, logistical support, and equipment.
The plan conditions disarmament on a “complete Israeli withdrawal” from southern Lebanon. Aoun is seeking a gradual and ultimately complete Israeli exit.
🔸 ITALY TO HOST TWO-STATE SUMMIT AND LEBANON TALKS: Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced that Italy will host a Global Alliance for a Two-State Solution meeting in Rome on July 28–29, co-chaired with Saudi Arabia, to revive the New York Declaration.
The summit will include a significant focus on interfaith dialogue as a prerequisite for peace, according to ANSA. Rome will also host a new round of Lebanon talks on August 4 following recent negotiations over the Israel-Lebanon agreement.
Addressing renewed Persian Gulf tensions, Tajani said the Strait of Hormuz must remain “free and open, navigable without any tolls,” adding that “Italy will do its part” to restore stability and maritime access.
⚠️ ISRAELI MINISTER WARNS OF POSSIBLE CONTACT WITH TURKISH FORCES: Israeli Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli said: "There could be direct contact with the Turkish Army at sea. This is not an impossible scenario; it could happen as early as tomorrow morning".
❌ FIVE ISRAELI GIRLS DETAINED NEAR SYRIAN BORDER: IDF troops detained five Israeli girls in the Mount Hermon area after they allegedly attempted to cross into Syrian territory. They were transferred to Israel Police for further investigation.
The IDF condemned the incident as a dangerous criminal offense that endangered civilians and troops while disrupting operational activity along the border. It called on law enforcement authorities to prosecute those involved and act decisively against repeated unauthorized crossings.
The activists are reportedly affiliated with the Bashan Pioneers, which advocates establishing Israeli communities in southern Syria. Similar attempts have increased in recent weeks.
No charges have reportedly been filed in previous cases, while some coalition lawmakers have expressed support for the group.
