⚠️ Katz threatens Gaza City evacuation and destruction over any abduction: Defense Minister Israel Katz said intelligence indicates Hamas “intends” to abduct an Israeli soldier or civilian. He warned that an abduction would lead to Gaza City being flattened like Rafah and Beit Hanoun.
“I warn from here Hamas and its supporters — from Iran to Erdogan. If even one Israeli soldier or civilian is kidnapped, the entire city of Gaza, with its homes and its towers of terror, will be evacuated southward, along with more than one million residents, and will be treated in the same way that Rafah, Beit Hanoun and 70% of the Gaza Strip's territory were treated, until they are returned”.
🛡️ Israel selects managers for state-guaranteed defense tech funds: Israel’s Finance Ministry and the Defense Ministry’s Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D) selected Adir Capital, part of Idan Financial Instruments, and SLING CAPITAL, part of Giza, to establish state-guaranteed venture capital funds focused on defense technology. The funds will seek to complete investor fundraising and begin operations in the coming months.
The initiative addresses a shortage of venture capital for production-intensive, high-risk defense ventures. It aims to support startups, critical supply chains and Israel’s technological, industrial and defense independence. The ministries said the war and geopolitical changes had sharpened these needs. State guarantees are intended to attract private investment, support economic growth and jobs, and advance Israel’s position as a global defense tech leader.
Defense Ministry Director General Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram said that after three years of war, greater research and development investment is needed to preserve Israel’s qualitative strategic edge and develop the next technological “surprises.” DDR&D head Brig. Gen. (res.) Dr. Danny Gold said connecting private capital, innovation and defense needs would accelerate breakthrough technologies, preserve the IDF’s qualitative edge and strengthen domestic manufacturing independence.
