๐จ KATZ DECLARES BEIRUT DETERRENCE POLICY AND PREPARES TO ENFORCE NEW HEZBOLLAH RED LINE
โผ๏ธ KATZ: DAHIYEH WILL PAY THE PRICE FOR ATTACKS ON ISRAEL: Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israel has established a new equation under which Beirut's Dahiyeh district will be treated the same as Israel's northern communities.
He stated that if Israeli towns continue to come under attack, Israel will evacuate and strike Hezbollah's stronghold in Dahiyeh.
Katz said public warnings and IDF evacuation notices led to the departure of hundreds of thousands of residents, estimating that 600,000 of 950,000 residents had evacuated by last night. He said the United States endorsed the principle and conveyed it to the Lebanese government and other relevant parties.
Katz stated that the coming days will determine whether attacks on Israeli communities stop or whether Israel will enforce the equation through strikes on Dahiyeh. He added that IDF operations inside Lebanon will continue regardless.
โ๏ธ ISRAEL'S LEBANON POLICY UNCHANGED: Katz said Israel will continue maintaining a security zone to protect northern communities, operating against Hezbollah throughout Lebanon, and pursuing the long-term goal of disarming Hezbollah.
He stressed that Israel will not return to the pre-October 7 security reality and will continue acting proactively against threats in Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, Iran, Yemen, and wherever necessary.
Katz also reiterated that there is no ceasefire in Lebanon and said the IDF continues operations south of the Litani River against Hezbollah infrastructure and operatives. He noted that the area controlled by Israel in southern Lebanon is approximately 600 square kilometers, compared to Gaza's 365 square kilometers.
๐ฎ๐ฑ NETANYAHU: POSITION ON BEIRUT REMAINS UNCHANGED: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he spoke with President Trump and told him that if Hezbollah does not cease attacking Israeli cities and citizens, Israel will strike terrorist targets in Beirut.
Netanyahu said the IDF will continue operating as planned in southern Lebanon.
๐บ๐ธ DETAILS OF THE NETANYAHU-TRUMP CALL: An official on the Prime Minister's team said reports claiming President Trump warned Netanyahu about jail or stated that Netanyahu is hated worldwide were false.
According to the official, the conversation was tense and included mutual complaints regarding social media posts describing the outcome of their previous call. Trump reportedly objected to a message suggesting that fighting continued at full intensity apart from Beirut strikes, while Netanyahu objected to a message implying Israel had ceased fire on all fronts.
The official said Trump noted the difficulty of presenting Israel's position internationally and that this contributes to hostility toward Israel. According to the source, the call ended with understandings that Israel would refrain from immediately attacking Beirut, provided Israel itself is not attacked within its borders.
โ๏ธ HEZBOLLAH REJECTS PROPOSED FORMULA: Lebanese parliamentarian Hassan Fadlallah said Hezbollah rejects the formula of no attacks on Israel in exchange for no attacks on Beirut.
He said Hezbollah is prepared only for a complete ceasefire and a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, and rejects Israeli freedom of action inside Lebanon.
๐ฅ IDF ISSUES NABATIEH EVACUATION WARNING: The IDF issued an urgent warning to residents in Nabatieh, stating that due to Hezbollah violations of the ceasefire agreement, Israeli forces will operate against the terrorist organization with force.
Residents were instructed to immediately leave their homes and move north of the Zahrani River. The IDF warned that anyone located near Hezbollah terrorists, facilities, or military assets is putting their life at risk.
๐ฅ WAVE OF STRIKES REPORTED ACROSS SOUTHERN LEBANON: Lebanese media reported that Israeli forces carried out airstrikes in at least eight different towns across southern Lebanon during the past hour.
