♟️ POLITICAL SIGNALS ON IRAN’S FUTURE LEADERSHIP: Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said: "A regime change in Iran will not happen without the action of the Iranian people and external support".
Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, said Israel hopes Iranian opposition parties will unite to form a transitional government with guidance from Jerusalem and Washington.
President Trump told ABC News: "The next Iranian leader is not going to last long if they don't get my approval".
He also said: "The new leader of Iran should get our approval to ensure we won't have to return every 10 years. I don't want people to have to come back in five years and repeat the same thing, allowing Iran to possess nuclear weapons".
Ayatollah Hossein-Ali Eshkevari, a member of the Assembly of Experts, said the next Supreme Leader has already been chosen and indicated continuity in Iran’s leadership, stating that “the name Khamenei will continue to remain at the head of Iran.”
Separately, Iran’s Fars News Agency reports that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, has been selected as the next Supreme Leader.
🛡️ IDF CHIEF OF STAFF: ISRAEL TARGETING IRAN DIRECTLY: The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, spoke with troops of the Search and Rescue Brigade of the Home Front Command alongside Home Front Command chief MG Shay Klapper and additional commanders.
He praised the brigade’s activity since the start of Operation “Roaring Lion” and said the home front is a central battlefield in the war.
Zamir said Israel is now directly targeting Iran, which he described as the most dangerous enemy Israel faces.
He said the broader campaign began about eight months ago and that Israel is now acting again after drawing operational lessons, with the intention of removing the long-term threat posed by Iran.
According to Zamir, Iran is the architect of a broader regional axis that includes Hezbollah, Hamas, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and has built networks and militias across the region designed to harm Israel.
He said Israel is now “going after the head of the snake”.
Zamir added that the work of the Home Front Command, especially the Search and Rescue Brigade, is essential to the success of the war alongside ongoing Israeli Air Force strikes against targets in Tehran.
