⚠️ ISRAEL WARNS LEBANON OF MAJOR STRIKES INCLUDING BEIRUT AIRPORT IF HEZBOLLAH JOINS POTENTIAL U.S.–IRAN WAR
⚠️ Israel deterrence messaging toward Lebanon: Reuters reports Israel warned Lebanon it would launch major strikes, including on civilian infrastructure such as Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport, if Hezbollah joins any U.S.–Iran conflict. Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji said Lebanon fears Israeli strikes on strategic infrastructure in such a scenario, including Beirut Airport.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said Shiite Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri conveyed guarantees from Hezbollah that it would not participate in a war to support Iran if the U.S. attacks it.
Salam said these assurances conflict with public statements by Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem that the group would not remain neutral if Iran were attacked.
Salam called on Hezbollah not to drag Lebanon into a “new adventure” and said Lebanon has already paid a heavy price for Gaza.
Lebanese media reported an Israeli drone broadcast threats by loudspeaker toward Lebanese army soldiers on a route south of Khiam, urging them to leave the area.
Earlier, Israel warned Lebanese officials it intends to carry out a “decisive strike” that could also affect civilian infrastructure.

The IDF said it fired warning shots after Lebanese soldiers began establishing an “uncoordinated military post” near Israeli troops.
The IDF said it issued warning calls, contacted coordination and liaison channels, and requested the work on the post be halted before firing.
The Lebanese Army said an Israeli drone flew at low altitude, issued threats aimed at forcing personnel to leave, and that it ordered reinforcements to remain in place and respond to the sources of fire.
Lebanon said the incident is being followed up in coordination with the U.S.-led ceasefire oversight mechanism and UNIFIL.
