🛡️ The Home Front Command updated defensive guidelines for northern communities following ongoing situational assessments. The Confrontation Line area, along with Meron, Bar Yochai, Or HaGanuz, and Safsufa, remains under a partial activity framework through 20:00 today.
🏘️ Restrictions on gatherings were tightened significantly, with outdoor events limited to 50 people and indoor gatherings capped at 200 participants, replacing the previous limits of 200 outdoors and 600 indoors. Educational activity remains unchanged except in communities listed under specific Home Front Command exemptions.
📢 The Home Front Command also scheduled siren tests in Moran at 09:35, Har Halutz at 11:05, and Lavon at 13:05. Authorities stated that if a real alert occurs during testing, an additional warning siren and app-based alerts will be activated simultaneously.
🪖 Separately, the Defense Ministry Crossings Authority is conducting a security exercise at the Sha’ar Efraim Crossing between 15:00 and 20:00. Residents in the area are expected to hear gunfire and explosion sounds as part of the drill scenario.
🎯 Israeli political and defense leadership continued discussions regarding expanded military activity in Lebanon. According to Israeli media reports, Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz approved broader targeting measures, including strikes on buildings, while the expanded security cabinet is expected to convene later today.
🚨 The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the IDF has begun mobilizing additional manpower to intensify operations in Lebanon. Soldiers discharged in recent days were reportedly instructed to immediately report for reserve duty.
🚀 Lebanese media reported launches of MANPAD missiles toward Israeli aircraft operating over southern Lebanon. Saudi outlet al-Hadath, citing an Israeli source, also reported that Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem was targeted twice in recent strikes.
🗳️ Political maneuvering in Jerusalem continued around possible efforts to dissolve the Knesset. Contacts reportedly took place between Netanyahu’s office and ultra-Orthodox parties regarding the future of the conscription law and whether support exists for dissolving parliament.
⚖️ Opposition discussions reportedly explored the possibility of a constructive vote of no confidence. According to the reports, United Torah Judaism rejected support for Yair Lapid or Yuli Edelstein and instead suggested Benny Gantz as a possible alternative candidate, though Blue and White denied any related contacts had occurred.
💵 The Bank of Israel lowered the benchmark interest rate by 0.25% to 3.75%. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich criticized the move as insufficient, arguing that a deeper cut was needed to reduce pressure on exporters, households, and businesses.
