✈️ Defense Ministry signs deal to extend F-35 operational range: Israel’s Defense Ministry signed a NIS 100 million ($34 million) contract with Elbit Systems subsidiary Cyclone to develop and integrate external fuel tanks for the F-35I Adir fighter jet.
The system is based on an existing Cyclone design originally developed for F-16 aircraft. It is expected to extend flight range, reduce reliance on aerial refueling, and improve operational flexibility during long-range missions.
🇮🇱 Program tied to long-term strategic preparedness: The Defense Ministry said the move is part of a broader strategy led by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Ministry Director-General Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram.
The strategy is aimed at strengthening Israel’s domestic defense production independence, improving preparedness for an intensive security decade, and maintaining Israel’s aerial and strategic superiority in the region.
The ministry described the effort as taking place against the backdrop of Operation “Roar of the Lion.”
❗️ Hezbollah drone attack wounds three civilians near Rosh Hanikra: Three Israeli civilians were wounded after an explosive Hezbollah drone struck a parking lot near Rosh Hanikra, close to the Lebanon border.
Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya said two civilians were initially listed in serious condition and one was lightly wounded. Later updates said one of the seriously wounded civilians deteriorated to critical condition.
The IDF called the attack “a blatant violation of the ceasefire understandings by the Hezbollah terror organisation.”
🛡️ Additional aerial infiltration alerts triggered in northern Israel: Sirens warning of hostile aircraft infiltration sounded in Misgav Am late this morning. The IDF said an interceptor was launched toward a suspicious aerial target that crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory.
The results of the interception remain under review.
Additional sirens sounded in the Mevuot Hermon Regional Council area after another suspicious aerial target was identified. The incident later concluded without injuries.
⚔ Hezbollah launches additional attacks toward IDF forces in southern Lebanon: Overnight, an interceptor was launched toward a suspicious aerial target identified near areas where IDF troops are operating in southern Lebanon. No sirens were activated, in accordance with protocol.
The IDF also said Hezbollah launched an anti-tank missile and several mortar shells adjacent to areas where Israeli troops are operating in southern Lebanon. No IDF injuries were reported.
