๐ฎ๐ฑ ISRAEL SENDS EARTHQUAKE AID TO VENEZUELA AS NETANYAHU RESPONDS TO ERDOGAN AND REGIONAL DIPLOMATIC TENSIONS CONTINUE
๐ฎ๐ฑ ISRAELI HUMANITARIAN DELEGATION ARRIVES IN VENEZUELA: A preliminary Israeli humanitarian assistance team has landed in Venezuela following the recent earthquake to support local recovery efforts alongside Venezuelan authorities.
The delegation is led by Israel's Ambassador-designate to Mexico, Yoed Magen, on behalf of the Foreign Ministry, and Brig. Gen. Elad Edri, Chief of Staff of the IDF Home Front Command, who is leading the IDF delegation.
Upon arrival, the team immediately began working meetings with local authorities, emergency response officials, and additional partners to establish a situational assessment, identify operational needs, coordinate the joint effort, and complete preparations ahead of operational activities. Additional members of the delegation are expected to arrive in the coming days. Once preparations are complete, Israeli experts will begin operating alongside local authorities while sharing Israel's experience in earthquake response, emergency management, and humanitarian assistance missions around the world.
โ๏ธ PILOT ERROR TRIGGERS HIJACKING ALERT AND MULTINATIONAL MILITARY RESPONSE: A LOT Polish Airlines flight from Warsaw to Jerusalem (LO155), operated by Bulgarian carrier Electra Airways using an Airbus A320, accidentally transmitted squawk code 7500, the international hijacking signal.
The alert prompted a coordinated NATO air policing response. A Bulgarian MiG-29 intercepted and escorted the aircraft through Bulgarian airspace before handing it over to two Turkish F-16s. Israel also scrambled two fighter jets over the Mediterranean before standing them down after the crew confirmed the alert resulted from pilot error, most likely an incorrect transponder code.
As a precaution, the aircraft was denied landing clearance in Cyprus and at Ben Gurion Airport before diverting safely to Burgas, Bulgaria.
๐ฎ๐ฑ NETANYAHU RESPONDS TO ERDOGAN: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "Erdogan speaks about wanting to destroy Israel and take control of Jerusalem again. I think he forgot that 400 years of Ottoman rule are over. Today there is a strong State of Israel. He should calm down. We will not allow anyone to threaten our existence or our security, and I think we have shown what we are capable of".
๐ธ ARMENIA WILL NOT RETALIATE OVER ISRAEL'S GENOCIDE RECOGNITION: Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said his government will not respond to Israel's recent decision to recognize the Armenian Genocide, citing what he described as the "weaponization of the Armenian Genocide."
"We believe that not engaging in the issue of the weaponization of the Armenian Genocide is in the interests of the Republic of Armenia. Therefore, we do not see any need for a response."
โ ๏ธ AZERBAIJAN URGES ISRAEL TO RECONSIDER RECOGNITION: Azerbaijan called on Israel to reconsider its decision to recognize the Armenian Genocide, arguing that the move "distorts historical facts and politicizes a complex historical issue."
The leaders of Azerbaijan's three Jewish communities, representing the Baku Mountain Jews Community, the Baku Ashkenazi Jews Community, and the Baku Sephardic Jews Community, also sent a joint appeal to members of the Israeli Knesset urging them to reject the recognition initiative.
