🇮🇱 ISRAEL MOVES AGAINST UK ROLE, WITH DEFENSE TIES PROVIDING POTENTIAL FURTHER LEVERAGE: Foreign Minister Gideon Saar announced that Israel will shut down the British Consulate in Jerusalem, which has operated since the 19th century, and expel British representatives from the International Gaza Support Center in Kiryat Gat in response to British sanctions targeting Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria. Saar said the UK will also be excluded from the U.S.-led Gaza coordination mission based in Israel and barred from participating in training Palestinian Authority forces in Judea and Samaria.
The measures follow a broader move by Britain, France, Canada and nine partners to restrict settlement trade. Israeli officials have promised a “significant” response and said Israel has “tools” available.
Israel’s principal potential leverage lies in licensed dual-use and defense technology already embedded in European military inventories, including electro-optical and infrared sensors, ISR and targeting pods, counter-drone systems, electronic warfare equipment, missile-defense software and spare parts. Britain’s Sky Sabre air-defense command software is built on Rafael architecture, Challenger 3 tanks use Rafael’s Trophy protection system, and Elbit supplies night-vision and surveillance equipment. Finland, which joined Tuesday’s statement, is also a David’s Sling customer. Restrictions in these areas would therefore represent a more consequential form of Israeli retaliation than diplomatic measures alone.
Israel has already established precedents for targeted retaliation. Defense procurement from France was cut to zero and Israeli defense sales were tightened after what Jerusalem described as a “hostile attitude.” Two Dutch officials were also removed from the Gaza coordination cell after the Netherlands adopted its own settlement-goods ban.

If there was any relevant information , it was passed through intelligence channels between the two countries”.
The Emirati Foreign Ministry said it “does not comment on media reports or speculation concerning conversations between national leaders”.
