🛡️ ISRAEL RAISES ALERT LEVEL AS U.S. MOVES TO PREVENT IRANIAN RETALIATION AND IDF PREPARES FOR POSSIBLE MISSILE FIRE
🛡️ ISRAEL PREPARES FOR POSSIBLE IRANIAN RESPONSE: Public shelters were opened in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Netanya after the national alert level was raised, according to Israeli media.
The Israeli cabinet is expected to meet this evening at a secret location in preparation for a possible Iranian attack.
According to N12, citing Israeli sources, the United States is exerting intense behind-the-scenes diplomatic pressure on Tehran to prevent an Iranian retaliation following the Israeli strike in Beirut’s Dahieh and to compel Hezbollah to cease firing. Washington reportedly fears an immediate military response could derail negotiations aimed at reaching a regional memorandum of understanding.
Israeli sources said the U.S. is attempting to prevent an Iranian attack on Israeli territory through multiple intermediaries. Israel reportedly conveyed a message that if Iran attacks, it will respond “swiftly and forcefully,” according to Channel 14.
Maariv, citing sources, reported that Prime Minister Netanyahu categorically rejected a scenario proposed by President Trump during their latest call that included a full Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, including the five positions, and from Syria’s Mount Hermon as part of broader understandings with Iran.
🛡️ IDF ON HIGH ALERT ACROSS ALL FRONTS: Following the strike in Beirut, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said the military is “closely monitoring developments” while maintaining “a high level of readiness across all arenas.”
“The current reality is sensitive and complex. The entire IDF is determined, alert, prepared, and operating at varying intensities across all sectors,” Zamir said during a meeting with commanders at Northern Command.
“Lebanon is our main center of gravity, but we are also preparing for developments in other arenas,” he added.
Zamir also stated that “every additional operational achievement we achieve will lead to the continued erosion and disintegration of Hezbollah's southern front and to the improvement of the security arrangements that will be determined as part of the negotiations mediated by the United States between the political leadership and the Lebanese government.”
At the meeting with division and brigade commanders, Zamir approved new battle plans for Lebanon.
The military said the current assessment is that Iran may fire missiles at Israel in the coming hours. The IDF stated it “will not tolerate fire toward the territory of the State of Israel” and remains prepared for “a variety of defensive and offensive scenarios.”
The public was urged to remain vigilant and follow Home Front Command instructions.
